Oh my god, my 401k might tank.
Fuck it, let my kids pay for this bailout later.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD!!!!!!
"I don't believe in damn curses. Wake up the damn Bambino and have me face him. Maybe I'll drill him in the ass." --- Pedro Martinez
You financial planners are all alike!
But it's probably true...
well give me some money and i'll buy
i don't even bother to look at my ira during these times
it's true. i've been fielding calls from clients all week wanting to sell. so i say to them, "okay, so you want to go ahead and lock in this -20% return?". it usually helps them realize its only a loss (or gain) when you actually sell.
smart man. what you don't know won't hurt you
Yeah. I just keep buying. Been maxing out since 1999. So I was buying low there for much of it.
I know some people who transferred to cash last week. So far they might have won on that, but let's see if they know when to buy in.
That's what you should do, although I really believe it should be maxed out all the time.
I'm not worried about mine going down now - it's down 30%. It went down 30% about 7 years ago too.
I'm not taking it out until I retire, so changes now don't make that much difference to me.
...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.
But, the loss is not a problem.... it is only on paper and I'm a way's away from getting to retire. I still have enough to pay off my house if needed.
It's not the loss in the 401K that will keep me working for a while... it is the loss of the medical coverage upon retirement that is keeping me (an a lot of senior workers) from retiring. The longer we hang on to our jobs... the longer you youngsters have to wait to get our jobs.
Hail, Hail!!!
If you were retiring right now, you'd be a fool to have your money in funds that are high risk. My parents just retired last year, but they have a guaranteed return (basically, they are in cash making like 3.5%).
