Volunteering for the campaigns

It can be a hassle sometimes, can't it?
Tomorrow is mock election day here in PA so myself and fellow Obama supporters are going around asking people if they need absentee ballots (as many students here at the university are registered back home, but not here). I gotta admit, going up to random people on campus and asking them if they need absentee ballots is a little weird. Well, more than a little weird. But it's for a good cause (in my opinion of course), so I don't mind doing it too much.
Anyone care to share experiences of political volunteering, either in this election or past ones?
