Hey gang, I'm a lurker here, but thought you guys might be interested in this.

http://www.tshirtsfortroops.blogspot.com/

This website is about this fireman who is selling shirts. For each shirt sold, he sends two free ones to soldiers in Iraq.

Whats coolest is that this is legit, nobody's getting ripped off here. In good faith, the guy spells out how you can start doing this. I'm gonna try one where I work, cuz why not? I mean, who doesn't like a free shirt!?! The story of how this started, and why t-shirts, are all written on the site.

Dig it!

what about selling t-shirts and donate the money to iraqi civilians, instead than soldiers that get them anyway from the army? (Without discussing the occupying role of the soldiers there..)

Thats not a bad idea either. and if you follow the directions on the site, there is no reason why you couldn't do that. But check the site, and you'll see there is a pretty solid reason as to why this is going to troops. Its not done in poor-taste or anything.

For those who choose not to check the site, the idea came from a Chaplin, who said the Unit he was with really enjoyed getting T-Shirts, that having a tangible thing was a cool gift. And as i said before, Who doesn't like a free shirt? haha

    Good point though.
