Georgia - Russia

So...Georgia, a country thats had its own military for a combined total of 21 years and been involved in 7 wars in that time....is it a puppet state for US interests? Seeing politically unstable the region is, why use force in South Ossetia without notifying the other Caucasus countries?


Russia, invading and exceeding peace-keeping limits to defend the interests of "Russian civilians"? Applying this logic en masse could see it invade all former soviet states and most of eastern europe.....is Putin merely carrying out a revenge attack in Georgia?

I havnt seen many threads about this here, and i found it startling to hear some of the acts going on during this conflict.

Someone shed some light on this mess...
