I did a search and I couldn't find a thread about this forum's namesake. Anyone read "Moving Train"?

I just started class again and at the college bookstore "People's History" was actually on a few political science and history curriculum.

All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.

i've read it. it is basically howard zinn's autobiography. he has been in the middle of some of the most interesting times in US history. he was on a bomber in WWII that did some of the firebombing of Dresden. he visited that city later and that is what cemented his anti war views. he was also involved in the very early civil rights demonstrations in AL and the vietnam protests in the 60s and 70s. i barely touched on some of the main points and i don't remember enough specifics to list too much more (been 2 yrs since i read it). its a very interesting book about a very interesting life. i would recommend it to anyone.

I've got a copy. You should be able to get a copy from Amazon or e-bay. There's also a documentary of the same name.

I've got to be honest. I haven't read any of it.

It's on my list of books to read in the near future though.
  • Really inspiring book, one of my favorites.
