I agree it will be at least half acoustic... Ed just has too much energy to just sit there and do acoustic songs all night is all I'm saying.. I am also traveling and spending lots of hard earned money on these shows and my intention is also to see Ed solo.. I have seen PJ ten times over the last 17 years and I agree that it is pretty much the same every night.. just new songs as time progresses.. I can't wait to listen to him play and talk to us.. It will be a great chance for long-time fans of his to actually get to know him on a more personal level.. I don't care what he does either.. It will put a smile on my face no matter what he does.. The unknown aspect of these shows is what makes them so exciting..
Nice how you took that coment out of context... I'm just saying I personally don't get off seeing them multiple times on the same tour because the shows are relatively similar.. I understand they change up the setlists and the arrangements of the songs and the phasing and all that.. They are more different night to night than anyone since the Grateful Dead... I agreee.. I just have better things to do than spend all my money and time following them around on a tour... I have seen them on pretty much every tour...so don't ever question my enthusiasm or dedication..
I am seeing the last five shows of the April Fools tour because that is guaranteed to be something new... I just get a little bored with PJ sometimes.. there are other bands out there you know.. I like to mix it up a bit...
I'm hoping the Aprils Fools is that Ed will be ably backed by Stone and Jeff and Drummer Matt Cameron (oh and Mike too). But, then again I'm the queen of wishful thinking.
That's what I'm thinking
"Well, I think this band is incapable of sucking."
-my dad after hearing Not for You for the first time on SNL .

To each their own I guess - I've seen many many other bands - but very few I see a lot outside of Pearl Jam - the only other acts I've probably seen more then 10 times is Ben Harper, the Boss and Martin Sexton - they all put on great live shows. I've seen a ton of other acts........nothing beats PJ however IMO.

I agree that no one beats them live.. I just think the shows would be even more exciting if they mixed it up even more than they do. They don't have THAT MANY albums when you think about how long they have been around.. So maybe doing more covers mixed in with their orginals could make the shows more unpredictable... Kind of like the Grateful Dead did..ya know..Just sayin'....
"Waaaa..... I'm going to sue the 10C for fraud. I'm going to sue Pearl Jam and Ed Vedder for lying to us. Waaaa....."
Sadly I think this wouldn't be exaggerating if they announced they are all playing those shows... the whinning and the bitching would be neverending....

and it would be fucking GREAT!!!!!
Take me piece by piece..... Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
sets are no longer random but by club # starting high to low
or
vip passes will be left in certain parts of the cities he is playing and u have to figure out the clues to get there
or
he changed his mind and is touring the east coast
Perhaps the announcement has to do with Ed/PJ getting with the times and webcasting their shows like Wilco does.
That way we can all have the front-row seat from our computers.

Maybe the "April Fools" reference has to do with the fact that Eddie's solo tour isn't going to be so short or so West Coast oriented, meaning that he'll be playing other venues on the East Coast and Midwest as well.
"I'll end up alone like I began..."
"You need the patience of like a National Geographic photographer sitting underneath the bush in a tent, trying to get a picture of zebras fucking or something for the first time." -Eddie Vedder
It's hard to not speculate that this could be the deal... or something like it.
We'll all be happy campers then, huh????
Except no. Not on this board.

like i said on the other 1000 threads of speculation that if the band did this i for one don't give a hoot it will roll of my back as i sit in the caribean sunshine surrounded by my family sipping mojitos all day long,if they choose to play games and announce this ,i have learned to just let go these shows won't make my life any better or worse for it ,if it happens i wish all the people who got tickets all the joy in the world ,i will save my $$$$$$$$ for the 4$ gallons of gas i need to get back&forth to work ,my family is way more important than a rock&roll band .......:)

See.... you have the family of four. (That will be sunning, surfing, and sipping mojitos in the caribbean!) Lots more costly than my family of TWO. One of whom gets quite a thrill out of a swing at the local park.

but you do get where i'm coming from i can't put the band in front of the family values anymore i have to just let the cards fall where they fall ,if shows come my way i will do everything i can to try to score tickets if not than i will move forward and enjoy the family as much as i can ...

Since tomorrow marks 6 weeks since the announcement of PJ playing Bonnaroo, I believe that a contractual window has now expired.
If this is true, some bands may now be at liberty to divulge other touring plans this week without damaging Bonnaroo's initial ticket sales push. Cases in point include Metallica and the Raconteurs both announcing tour dates for the summer this week.
Also, this could explain why Ed solo shows on the April Fools tour were marketed and sold as such (a loophole to avoid upsetting Bonnaroo promoters).
I'm just guessing out loud here, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense to me. Guess we'll know tomorrow.
