local seattle tribe uses .50 cal to hunt gray whale. so much for traditional hunting techniques.

It's like those seals in Canada this year who were spared from the fur hunters because they got caught on an iceburg.....and starved to death. They probably would have been better off with the hunters.

I have to agree. Man up and wrestle that whale out of the ocean like their ancestors did or just go to the store.
this whale was not "harvested for their food." this was some boys (I wouldn't call anyone using a machine gun to kill a defenseless animal men) playing with big toys...and the whale had to pay for it. they didn't have (nor applied for) any permit to hunt this whale. hell, not even the other members of the Makah tribe were aware that they were out to get this whale.
btw...Neah Bay is 155 miles from Seattle so they're not a "local Seattle tribe"
