Attention MAINE PJ fans! Help STOP REAL ID

Hello to any and all MAINE PJ fans! Please-I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to seek out the People's Veto petition aimed at repealing Maine's recently passed law, LD 2309, which brings Maine closer to compliance with the Federal REAL ID Act. REAL ID is a SHAM - a tremendous erosion of civil liberties which fails to address the problems the Department of Homeland Security claims REAL ID solves- mainly terrorism, illegal immigration, and identity theft.

Opponents to this poorly crafted, unbelievably expensive law are faced with gathering over 55,000 signatures from registered Maine voters, in order to get a chance to repeal this law by way of a veto question on statewide ballots in November. This is a massive hurdle to overcome, especially for a grassroots effort which must comply with a very strict time frame. Time is of the essence- signatures must be submitted by July 17!!! Put your name down and help take back a slice of your own personal privacy! Get involved and make a difference. Sign the petition! If you're not registered to vote -REGISTER, and then sign the petition!
