A Canadian Looking For US Political Answers

I was just reading this months Rolling Stone and the article on Joe Lieberman, and it seems that whatever the political issue, and whoever is involved, the newsprint and other media coverage always seems to bash either the party or specific people involved.
But through all of this, I never see anyone come up with alternatives... I always hear the basic 'we need to solve this issue' and 'we need to get people out of such and such and help rebuild' and 'this is not the guy, he's a clown'

I was just wondering if there are any trustworthy politicians in the US, or at least people decent and intelligent enough to gain respect of the American people as someone they can look to when there are conflicts in the world

....cause I haven't really seen anyone point to anyone else yet. Thanks!

Please speak a lot... I wanna know!

Seems like there are no easy answers just questions. Joe L is a decent person but is being drummed by the left as a bad candidate yet he has supported liberal causes his whole career. His convictions are the Iraq war was justified.

JL's party is abandoning him because he refuses to play partisan politics when it comes to Iraq.
