and i found this:

http://newyork.craigslist.org/lgi/rnr/745323004.html

it's sort of a long rant, but i only read a few and got angry! now, i used to consider myself liberal, (only because i knew i wasn't conservative) but now i just consider myself none-of-the-above because i dont want to belong to any group. however, i'm pretty sure not everyone who considers themselves a "liberal" think/behave like this!

and for the record, i'm not christian, but i believe in equality, love, and freedom for all, as long as you don't bother anyone else. oh, and here's the part where "eddie vedder" came up in the search:

"You believe President Bush is too dumb to be President and Arnold Schwarzenegger is too dumb to be Governor of California, but the Dixie Chicks, Martin Sheen, Alec Baldwin, Barbra Streisand, Eddie Vedder and Jeanine Garofalo are qualified experts on foreign policy."

I searched for a monitor on Craig's List. I found a great one for $20 bucks. Now my pc set up looks like Darth Vader lives in my house. Sharp! I also got a $3 keyboard for another computer. I'll run a search on Eddie, but I'll bet he won't be quite the bargain the other two items were. What do I look under? Personal Troubadours? Masters and Slaves? ;)

Also, Britney Spears is more of a foreign policy expert than Bush.

More than half of those are pretty good. Whiny ass liberals

You believe "rich people" are evil, but are willing to over-look the fact that Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton, George Soros, Michael Moore, and Al Franken are "rich", as well.

You support low-income housing until they start to build in your neighborhood.

Ah the good-old kettle vs pot sling-fest, based on some individuals perceived to be on the other side (or the image one has of such people). Roll it all into one and make a big list of what everyone left (or right) of centre thinks about everything... I know person A says/does this, A is a liberal/republican/alien/math teacher, thus all liberals/republicans/aliens/math teachers says/does this. I also know that B says/does this, B is a liberal/republican/alien/math teacher, and thus all liberals/republicans/aliens/math teachers says and does this as well, in addition to what A does/says...

A just as condemning and "amusing" list can easily be made about "conservatives", with slight variations on the themes in here. How can anyone call themselves conservatives?

    completely agree...
It seems like every issue is narrowed down to liberal/conservative, right/left, which makes for the stance that EVERYthing the "other side" says is wrong and mostly even morally inferior to one's own believes...which is a waste I think...I don’t think society and even politics only have this very very limited spectrum to offer...it doesn’t have to be this antagonized...it seems like two isolated worlds and hardly anyone truly makes an effort to understand the "other side's" arguments...

like on this board (and I guess it's not the only place in America it is like that) almost everything after a while comes down to this antagonism...
Doesn’t matter if it’s about a guy who died, a foreigner who was pulled over by the police, or about if it’s good for Americans to learn a second language...
sooner or later somebody comes up with something like, "yeah that’s because it doesn’t fit in your agenda" or "it's because you're biased"...
    I don’t think that is very constructive...and it's boring...
unfortunately I see this kind of "battle" start in other countries too...

Does anyone know how to speak politely to each other anymore?

The Posting Guidelines may need to be reread by some, assuming they were read when registering and agreeing to them.

Is that Bombs thread stickied at the top of this forum invisible?

Does this forum have a purpose any longer? How useful is it if it's nothing but trashing each other?

There are many other questions along these lines.
