I always look at this forum but never contribute anything. I don't trust anything i read in the newspaper. The TV gets me depressed. This seems like the only place where i can get an open minded opinion about something. I trust you because you've listened to the same music as me (which carries a positive, sincere message)

But i still don't think the PJ forum has made me any wiser. I still feel as clueless as always. Do you think this is about my personal struggle or do you also feel this way?

    Smalls? Is that a group?
  • I don't trust anything I read in the paper either.

I guess you can read everyone's opinion on here but I take it lightly, like I do the media.

I think some people have put some interesting links on here though.
  • I'm not sure having open minded discussions is goin to make you less depressed but I find that you can get some realistic reporting of stuff and listen to some good debate on WINZ down here in south florida, you know THE PLACE WHERE PEARL JAM NEVER PLAYS!!!! anyway....

Sounds like you have the same problem I have. Opinion.

Everyone has an opinion and those opinions usually differ slightly or hugely from person to person. No manner of opinion can help a person to determine truth or best course of action.

I would prefer if all discourse on here was in the format of scientific enquiry. But it won't happen, because there is far too much diversity in the human brain for all of us to be well structured in our acquisition of knowledge and determination of truth. Many people are destined to reason badly, some not to reason at all, others to persecute those who reason.
I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire

Fanch75 needs to start another "Katherine Harris is hot" thread.
  • Well there's a movie coming out in 2008 that might answer some questions (or perhaps not)

but hey, how this for a movie plot?

whilst there are many interesting links and very interesting discussions that happen on the AMT, nothing that i have read anywhere on this forum has made me any wiser than some of the lessons i have learned from living life. that's about as simple as it gets for me.

It's funny, I think I've actually learnt more on the other forums simple because it's really just speculation and opinion on here. I guess that's pretty obvious really.

to be honest; mate; i think the board will cause you more confusion. there's so much diversity that a conclusion is rarely met. even with things so simple as our ice cap is melting. you can't deny it but several will. so i think what you'll find here is that everyone else is as confused as you.
open-mindedness won't be found much around here. but on the other hand; when you're feeling down; it's a good place to come to see others much worse off. that should cheer you up a bit. and there's always that chance that someone will change the way you look at something. if you're looking for advice; i'd say participate. if you don't ask questions or let us know your mind; you won't get much out of the board. it's give and take; so give a little and see what you get back.

it hasnt made you wiser because you've been listening to a bunch of liberals, their skulls are full of mush, which in turn is making your skull full of mush...

If anything you've read on this board makes you ask a question or want to question somone's remarks, it doesn't matter whether the opinion follows your line of thinking, all that matters is that there is enough of a diversity of discussion and offered opinions for YOU to at least think about how YOU feel about a subject.

Sometimes trust comes down to believing in what is right/good for you and yours.

Sometimes to become a little wiser you have to communicate and contribute your thoughts to a topic to see where it leads whether its on a messageboard or in the real world.
