  • get your tickets ASAP if you plan on going all three days. They will be cheaper the earlier you buy them and if any big name band shows up on the bill (hopefully its PJ) the 3 day passes disappear quick. You will love the festival, been every year except one. Its a music lover's paradise.

tickets are allready on the 3rd and last price tier. if you plan on going, pj or no pj, you should go buy it before the 15th, or shorty there after.
    I miss you hippiemom.

I really hopw PJ plays, but i don't want to get my hopes up.

Yeah, I think tix are at $170 each right now. If you are planning to hit ACL either way, you should probably get it now.

Here is my best effort at summarizing ACL rumors right now:

The two most rumored headliners have been:
Radiohead--who will be playing in Japan within two days-seems they are out
Pearl Jam-- the rumor is 50/50 but much more cold than hot right now--and I think we would have heard a tweet today if that was happening--but I could be wrong.

A lot of people are saying Neil Young is going to be there along with Jack Johnson and maybe the Beastie Boys, Portishead or Dave Matthews Band. Of course this is all wild speculation.

Only 29 bands have been officially announced like Gnarls Barkley, Raconteurs. MGMT, and the rest will be announced next Tuesday.

The new rumor is since Prince has added a festival that he might hop on for ACL. Most people have Wilco, and My Morning Jacket there as well.

Those who believe PJ is not headlining are saying they dropped out and Foo Fighters are taking that slot.

This is just compiled from a few rumor blogs/sites. I have no inside knowledge.

Other longshot rumors have been STP and Rage Against the Machine--which do not really seem to fit ACL if you ask me.

You'd think that this rumour would have gathered a lot of steam this week if it were true. The fact that the opposite has happened leaves me not all that optimistic too.

Yeah, if there is no tweet late today or sometime tomorrow, I think we can pretty much write this off and I can go back to being depressed.

I know I am still seeing them for three of the East Coast shows, but come on.

During SXSW it was the hottest rumour in town. We all bought ACL 3 day passes. Please don't let us down.

  • ok, so what is acl?
  • having a "tweet" kind of takes the fun out of the speculation...maybe they have realized that too

    PJ IN TEXAS 08...

and yes I can add that they are rumored outside of this message board
    looking for 2 to Columbia...

  • ok, so what is acl?

ACL-Anterior Cruciate Ligament, commonly ruptured when playing sports.
  • yeah, i think if there was a tweet i would say they are doing acl . but i havent heard a peep of a tweet.

as for the prince thing. the festival he's playing payed him 4 million dollars.

aclfest wont pay out that kinda cash. i personally think prince would be a major letdown. and i've seen him before. on the purple rain tour. i was 7.
    mean people suck!
    but nice people sw****w

I didn't write this. This is taken from the ACL message board. Rumor, rumor, rumor:

"My friend works for a marketing company here in Dallas that does all of the Marketing/PR for the Superpages.com Center.

Pearl Jam is currently booked to play the SuperPages Center in Dallas on September 25th.

The word on the street is that C3 has paid PJ BIG BUCKS to close the Festival out and put something in the contract that NO Texas dates could be announced until after the ACL announcement...

The wording for most of the Texas shows that have been announced by venues is (possible, pending, etc...) so it makes sense to me.

Pearl Jam is going to be the headliner folks. 100%"

Anyway, take it for what it is worth, probably nothing.

Yep, which is why I pretty much lost hope in this thing by Friday and certainly after the weekend.
