Just watch this little girl. She had to learn it from her parents. Should they go to jail?

not to be an ass, but it's "rearing" not raising. ;)
no, the parents shouldn't go to jail for this. I wish kids cussing way too much was the biggest problem of our day.

"Reining in" would work. As in, "Spinbrett should be reining in his compulsive propensity to make anti-Obama threads, unless that is, he suffers from Tourette's, or worse, Nader's syndrome." :D

That's horrible. Culture and lifestyle definitely has a lot to do with it. Yes the parents are responsible. The child hears it at home and sees mom and dad behave this way and so he mimics. He learns that this is "normal" and how things are done.

It's kind of funny - "talk to the hand my ass" :)

Seriously though, it's definitely a sign of bad parenting. How widespread is the problem? I don't know. But I've seen a lot of it. There's a girl that I work with who is in her early 20s and she has a 5 year old son. She said his favorite movie is Boyz in the Hood. I couldn't believe it. Everything about that movie is inappropriate for a kid that age. So in addition to being exposed to sex, adult language, extreme violence, drug abuse, guns, and you name it, his mother yells and curses at him. Nice, huh. And the father isn’t around. The girl calls him the ‘sperm donor.’ What kind of chance does this kid have? He got suspended from school recently for jumping the bus driver with a few of his friends. All of them are 5-6 years old, and they actually started to fight the driver while the bus was moving. Unbelievable, but not very surprising considering how his mother is raising him.

I consider myself to be a very hands-on, caring father and I always try to be a positive influence and role model in my daughter's life. She’ll be 4 in July and the worst she's seen is Scooby Doo. She picked up the word stupid from it and we're trying to get her to stop saying it. My wife and I teach her manners and respect and we’re always careful with the words we use when she’s around. We try to not expose her to anything that’s inappropriate for her age and we lead by example.

So what’s the main cause of bad parenting? Immaturity? Kids having kids. Is it ignorance? Is it how the parents were raised when they were children? Or is it just the sum of many factors collectively?

    Couple of things.
    1. It's a little boy.
    2. It's clearly fake.

and besides, isn't there enough American's in jail already? where would you fit them all.
maybe you're secretly hoping it's one of obama's kids or something. who knows

im sorry, but 'rearing' sounds really bad!
If someone said they were rearing their child i would call Social Services ;)

Have you seen that comment on Knocked Up? One of them says the same thing and they all laugh about it

Is there some thing that clearly indicates it is real? It seemed kind of staged to me too. And poorly acted.

even if it were a staged isolated event, the fact remains that far too many young children in this demographic talk this way. Just take a walk into an inner city school and you will be met with it first hand. It's frightening and sad.
