On Tuesday’s O’Riley Factor Fox clearly labeled Foley a Democrat. Fox claims it’s a mistake. I say it was intentional because Fox knows the majority of their audience are uninformed red-necks who didn’t have a clue who Foley was before this story broke, and the they slipped the “D” next to his name hoping the red-necks would think Foley is a Dem.

Both Jon Stewart and Keith Oberman called them out on that last night... While your stereo-type of the fox audience is a little off base, that's just another bad move on their part...

This thread should have been a pole. Was it intentional?

I've been back and forth, but I think it was. I think it was for the purpose of poisoning just a couple of more people against the opposition party.

the associated press did the same. normally when something like this happens the broadcaster puts up a notice or a presenter says "sorry, we messed up"...
  • I saw it on the Daily Show, but later in the night saw parts of the re-run of the O'Riley show, and I think it was corrected (at least the graphics that I saw over the same B-roll footage). I didn't see if there was anything thing said about it.

I thought I had heard that the "corrected" version had just removed the caption alltogether--did not include an (R). But that was just from someone at work, so I may be wrong.

You're giving uninformed red-necks alot of benefit of the doubt here. What makes you think actual uninformed people watch any news? Even if it was intentional on fox's part, noone who is informed would have been "fooled" and noone who is uninformed would have even been watching. Stop me when im wrong.

If you change "noone" to "very few" I could be on board.

I saw this, the tv still was sent to me in an email w/ Foley's picture, and that he was a D-FLA. I would think that Fox did it on purpose as it's no secret that they don't always report the truth in their "news".

    I thought that was funny.

It's also funny to think if it really matters to someone out there if he is a R or a D. That's just a letter. He's a sick jerk regardless of the letter.
