Better Weapons?

I don't understand the motivation to develope more destructive weapons. Wouldn't it be better to develope more accurate weapons. A weapon called Metal Storm has been developed, it uses electricity as it's firing mechanism, and it's capable of firing one million rounds per minute in a wall of metal, kind of ridiculous if you ask me.

    Just watched the video. 1,000,000 rounds a minute, wow that's impressive. I disagree this weapon looks pretty accurate, considering how many projectiles are hitting the target. I'm all for more weapons like this, if it saves one soldier's life.

    It depends upon the requirement.
    One of the most incredible firings I've ever witnessed was the Navy's Phalanx Anti-Missile weapon. It is used for close in fleet defense against incoming surface missiles. The Vulcan gattling gun fires 20mm tungsten shells at a rate of 3,000 rounds per minute. when that thing fires, it sounds like a giant rotary aircraft engine running at full bore. The idea is to put up a wall of fire that disintegrates the missile.
    Put up against a human target... all that would be left would be pieces about the size of confetti.

    And this beast fires 1,000,000 rounds in a minute.

    If they could fine tune that baby to hit a target every single shot....

    We could wipe the population of the planet out in 109.09 minutes.

    I'm reserving judgement until I see it fire 1,000,000 rounds at 1,000,000 rounds per minute. My simple mind cannot imagine the insane amount of damage this can do by only seeing it fire 180 rounds.

    I havent seen the video, either. But, if it is a gattling gun/multiple barrelled configuration... like the chain guns or Vulcans... then, it can be done.

    The U.S. already has one, capable of taking out missiles, tested on Katyushas and other types already.
