Siberia Permafrost

Ok, I was banned for a while and I saw this article from Newscientist. org or some junk claiming the pete bogs in Siberia are melting.

I started looking into it and all the sources I could find sharing that perspective referenced that website.

However, any credible resource on permafrost is saying nothing of the sort. It all appears to be part of a normal cycle.

Research has shown that the exitinction of species is not a direct result of human intervention. Rather a naturally ocurring event in nature. Mother nature is a cold hard bitch.

Check out the facts not just some fringe web-sites. Literally everyone in the environmental hysteria groups know nothing of the sort. Just a bit of chewed up and puked up garbage.

  • Dude, where did you get your research from? It is a fact that global temperatures are rising and it is rising and effecting the arctic regions at a higher pace than anywhere else. The temperature has been rising. This is fact. Also, it is fact that the sea ice cover, glaciers, ice fields and permafrost are all melting. The boreal forest is encroaching into tundra. There is loads of documented evidence to support this.

Yes, there have been natural extinction events in the past and there will be in the future, but it is a fact that what is happening now is distinctive from past events because we are systematically altering the compostion of the atmosphere by emitting loads of greenhouse gasses while eliminating systems that keep the planet in equilibrium.

If you are disputing the issue of climate change, on what scientific basis do you take issue with?

The global temperature has risen 0.6 degrees fahrenheit above the centennial average, in 1980 the difference was -0.2 degrees fahrenheit. At that time fringe scientists were claiming an Ice Age was on our doorstep.

The concept of greenhouse gases is a theory with little support. The primary chemical in flatulance is methane, a "greenhouse gas" the same gas stored in the Siberian pete bog. We think the dinosaurs were killed off by an Ice Age which occured by a rise in global temperature. We believe that a rise in global temperature is the result of greenhouse gases. However, we also believe dinosaurs didn't drive cars or do, well, anything us humans do, except eat, sleep and fart. So maybe flatulance really is the reason for the first ice age. If you don't believe that, it's hard to believe any of it. At any rate, it is something the earth has been going through for billions of years. It's a cycle and there is plenty more evidence to support that theory.

the centennial average?? ... who would compare temperature vs an average that has the spikes??
