Yea right 200 years in prison. As if..

Sure, I guess the guy won't be sexually attracted to children after serving a 200 year sentence. Because that's exactly how pedophilia works. not..

Minimum penalty per "count" is baloney really. So this guy had nasty pics on his computer, and for that he can get 200 years? Punish him sure, but come on. If this is worth 200 years, the whole punishment scale needs a massive tune-up.

But imprisonment has never been for rehabilitation, it is for keeping them away from the public, and cretae a feeling that justice has been served.

But this counting pictures and multiplying sentences is just as ridiculous as the music and movie business trying to get as much money pr mp3 or downloaded movie as if the person having them sold thousands of copies making money on them. "A breach of copyright is 10.000$, you have 200 files on your computer, you owe us 2.000.000$".

I have no love for legal math like this. And 200 years for this seems way way too excessive, although I have no sympathy for the sick fuck.

    Peace
    Dan

    Cruel punishment!

Has anybody here spent a night in state prison? I've been to juvie once, and I assume true prison is many times worse. In fed'l prison, you have to face the humiliation of the arrest, having all your posessions taken, having to explain yourself to your friends and family, all that is as humiliating as anything else on earth. On top of that, there is the terrifying first day behind the prison walls, and the intimidation facing all of the psychos in the prison commons.

If prison is anywhere as bad as I imagine it, child pornography should have a maximum sentence of 15 years for any amount of porn.

You can't heal or fix it.

Perhaps not, but we do know it's not a choice.

They used to lobotomize pedophiles and homosexuals. But I guess even imprisoning a homosexual now would be considered wrong. Yet, pedophilia and homosexuality are of the same clinical classification.

That wouldn't alter their desires though.

With pedophilia, it's not like they have a slight attraction to children but are mostly attracted to the opposite sex their own age. The reality is, their primary sexual attraction is towards children and it lasts their entire lifetime.
