So, Tim Horton's started their "Rrrrroll up the Rim" contest again.

Looking at the Rules and Regulations gives you some kind of idea of how much Ontarions love Tim Hortons

APPROX NO. OF CASES
(1000 CUPS PER CASE)

British Columbia
18,164

Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Northwest Territories & Yukon
32,009

Ontario
152,402

Quebec (excludes Bas St.-Laurent,
Gaspésie & Iles-de-la-Madeleine) & Labrador
18,044

Atlantic Provinces (excludes Labrador) & Quebec region of
Bas St.-Laurent, Gaspésie & Iles-de-la-Madeleine
38,259

USA (New York, Ohio, Michigan, Maine, Kentucky, West Virginia,
Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania)
11,359

ROLL UP THE RIM TO WIN® CONTEST - 2007

More coffee cups were shipped to Ontario than all the other regions combined!

Up in Orillia (pop 30,000 or less) there are like 11 Tim Horton's. Sometimes less than a block apart.

I'm drinking one right now!

I don't need any contest to tell me how much people in Ontario love Tim Horton's. When I went to the London show, I got off the freeway and got stopped at a light next to a Tim Horton's. Glanced across the street ... DIRECTLY across .... and there was another Tim Horton's! I could see another one just a little further down the road. Turned around, there was one a couple blocks that way too. How in the hell can FOUR Tim Horton's all within walking distance of one another possibly stay in business?! You people are crazy :p

Yeah, we have one of those 4 Tim Horton areas by my boyfriend's place. It IS crazy. Of course they each have special features....one is just a counter in a gas station; another is a drive through; yet another is a full-seating establishment, and the other other is also full seating............

I wonder where in London this 4 Horton's deal is. I live in London and I don't even know!

I know there is a lot of them though.

  • I honestly don't know what the big fuss over Tim Horton's is. Its much more of an east coast thing cause its not "huge" on the west as it is over there. The term Double-double just got added as a dictionary term (two shots cream, two shots sugar). that said, I much prefer Timmy's over Starbucks.

As I recall, Starbucks was the dominant coffee chain out west. Which sucks. Starbucks is horrible.

I actually love Starbucks, as unpopular as it is to say that on this board. Although I do have to take the top off of the chocolate powder they have and dump a bunch into my coffee before it's to my liking.

And I've been corrected, there is only 3 Tim Hortons in the one area I referred to. Apparently I was imagining one.

I was farrrr into my life before I realized that Tim Horton was actually initially a hockey player.....well that and the fact the he was a real person and not just a coffee chain. It's funny--I watched his biography and he got into the coffee biz so he could make himself a secure living, unlike what went on in big league hockey.

Hah, It took me a while to find out he was a hockey player too.

I'd get into the coffee business, but I think the industry is filled.

I think Timmies is so popular because they use 40% cream or some junk.

I've seen people go in and order a 4x4 at Timmies, that's just way too much cream and sugar, I used to drink 3x3, but I can't anymore, I just drink 2x2 now.

I get a three quarter decaf, one quarter hot chocolate, with two sugars and a bit of milk. Apparently that is confusing to them. :o

All I know is it's near a highway somewhere. The one was about 2 blocks ahead of me, another 2 or 3 blocks behind, but it was the two directly across the street from one another that really blew my mind.

Yeah, the area I'm talking about has one on a corner, one across the street about 1/4 of a block down, and the other is about a block away. It's scary.

Probably in the west end, us EoA'ers can't afford 4 Tim Horton's.

I'd say. That's probably the most confusing order I've heard. My cousin orders A large 3 milk 1 sweetener and they can't even get that right.

Lucky you don't get a butterscotch flavour shot as well.

Robin's Donuts kicks Timmy's ass. Although T.H. has great chicken soup.

Yea, see I never go up that way.

Yea, well, I live on Hilton. I can afford Timmies, but I don't think this area warrants 4 Timmies.
