Hey, aren't you Canadian? I thought you guys used 'proper' English. Same with the Aussies too, right?

it's not that we aussies use 'proper' english. we speak and write just english. in order for a language to survive it has to adapt and change, as well as absorb words from other languages. english does this and will until the end. i'm over the american's apparent inability to spell correctly. it's much ado about nothing really.

    Hahaha, check it

    http://www.conservapedia.com/Liberal
The term "liberal" comes from the aftermath of the French Revolution, where it meant someone who advocated more powerful elected assemblies.

"Liberal" today means the disfavoring of individual responsibility in favor of collectivism or egalitarianism. Liberals tend to prefer equality in result rather than increased opportunities that can result in unequal results.

An alternative definition of liberal is anything that is not conservative. For example, the American Heritage Dictionary includes this definition of "liberal":[2]

Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas ...

That doesn't exactly mean "anything that is not conservative".

    Ok, check the reference...
Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry.

Well that last part was conveniently left out. What about the other definitions.
Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.

Of, relating to, or characteristic of liberalism.

Liberal Of, designating, or characteristic of a political party founded on or associated with principles of social and political liberalism, especially in Great Britain, Canada, and the United States.

Well what do you expect from bigots eh?

    Definition of bigotry
stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own.

So it would seem that the definition of Liberal is non-bias.

Might as well rename the parties, bigots and non-bigots.

All I was pointing out is the English, Canadians, & Australians use the same spellings of words. It's not the 'inability of Americans to spell', it's how english is taught here. If I had spelled the word color 'colour' on a spelling test in school, it would have been considered incorrect. Like you said, much ado about nothing. Color is correct for americans and colour is correct for the rest. No one should have to 'change' to appease another.

did you see my use of the word apparent?
i'm not saying americans can't spell. i'm merely pointing out that some people see it that way.

Oh, I misinterpreted your use of the word.

Yeah, I always understood other countries spelled english words differently than how I learn in the States. I never saw it as wrong, it's just different. I mean, i'm sure all of us learned American, British, etc literature in school. So it is strange for me to understand the issue. No one is wrong and it's insignificant, really. I think we agree on the matter.

    REALLY?

That gives a lot of credit to christianity? By taking out Christ's name? Wow. Lots o' credit!

BC and AD is where it's at. Fuck anybody who says CE. They're usually prickish professors anyway.

    Yes it is.

Look, time didn't start with Jesus Christ, and the universe is not 6,000 years old. Wake up!

Didn't the English 'discover' the language? ;) We Americans are too lazy to insert additional letters in words, such as favour, humour, and labour. My american spell check wants to correct those words soooooo bad.

Look, you wack job: I do not have the time to spell "Donut" with eight letters. It is just not possible. My time is valuable, this "doughnut" foolishness has got to stop. It's wasting valuable man-hours.

I'm not. I recognize that both sides do it and I get this upset at both sides of the coin. The list you linked to is ridiculous, I agree. It just seems so fucking crazy to me that people would think that Wikipedia is so outwardly biased, and then put forth a conservapedia. I find it humorous as well as outrageous and frightening.

I agree with the bitch about using C.E. and B.C.E. instead of A.D. and B.C., but those are accepted terms in their field.

are you really that stupid? seriously. i don't mean to be rude, but can anyone see that this is a colbert typed project, made by a lib to poke fun at conservatives? again, anyone who actually thinks this is made by a conservative in a serious manner, you REALLY need to get a sense of humor.

Wait, I found him. The article discusses his religious beliefs.

I then found the article on evolution. It gives a very short one paragraph outline explaining what the theory is and then proceeds to attack it based on lack of transitional forms in the fossil record. Their arguments are very, very lame, and the article makes no mention of the evidence for evolution by natural selection. I'm tempted to see if I can create an account and edit the article, but I don't have that much time to waste.

I don't know. I've got a pretty dry, sarcastic sense of humour, and I looked at the site. After reading a few articles I think its actually for real. If not somebody has way, way too much time on their hands. . . .
