Anyone else going to Key to see Obama? Haven't been there since the warm-up shows of '02 :).

Time to see what he's all about in person...

Washington State's Governor Christine Gregoire just endorsed Obama this morning, hours after Hillary was here, and just a couple of hours before Obama arrives for his rally. That should be a little slap to Hillary, and add more momentum to Obama's run.

  • Thats really cool. Sadly for us our stupid governor endorsed Hillary as did one of our congresswomen. Congressman Earl Blumenauer endorsed Obama though so at least he has one superdelegate in Oregon. Any word on where your congresspeople/senators/party officials are going?

Unfortunately Senator Patty Murray and Senator Maria Cantwell both endorsed Clinton. I thought Gov. Gregiore would, too since Murray and Greiore both used gender as part of their campaign strategy. It was good to see Gregiore break that mold.

Let me know how it goes Framer. I will tell you that he is as captivating in a large group setting as he is driving down rural roads in Macoupin County, IL in a one on one conversation.
  • I'm expecting you to come back with glowing reports! I agree with whoever mentioned a bootleg. Fuck. That'd be awesome.

Matt's there. Just saw him on the KING 5 noon news checking out the fired up video playing at the Key. Looks like lots of people were turned away due to the large turnout.

Sounds like a very successful rally. Estimated 21,000 people showed up. Not enough capacity at Key Arena, so people had to stand outside the venue and listen to the speech. They played some of it on the news, and he definitely had the crowd going.

unbelievable. i knew he was a great speaker, but wow. i had tears in my eyes when he was talking about the importance of hope. the place was PACKED. we were sitting on the steps in the aisle in the upper level. the aisles were all full of people up there. they had to call the police from inside the key arena to go outside when they told people that no one else could come in. the mayor even made a point about how the fire chief would have shut it down if he was there.

a couple of radio deejays from the end said that before he came into the arena, Obama addressed the people outside (that didnt get in) with a bullhorn, and then shook a bunch of hands.

it may sound lame, but one of the things that impressed me the most was during his speech, there was a girl that had fainted or looked like she was about to. he stopped the speech, tossed some bottles of water to the front and waited while they got her out........"he knows how to handle a pit!"...lol.

can't wait to cast my vote at my caucus tomorrow!!!

    Obama '08!!!!!!!

and I was one of them - it was cold! especially since I thought I'd be in a cramped, hot Key Areana and came without a coat.

Saw the motorcade leaving town and got a big wave from him as I cheered with 2 others waiting at the bustop.

Well that was well worth the drive... even though it took me 5 fucking hours to get home!! Sorry Washington but you have the worst drivers I have had the pleasure to share the road with.

Obama... man, what else can I say that hasn't been said. The only way Hillary is going to win this election is if someone steals it for her. Obama will more than likely sweep these caucuses and carry the momentum needed for March 4th...

Here is a few of the videos I took, my camera was bug'n on me so they arent all that great. I'll post more if you want. Let me know.

Aww. I was hoping he said that.
  • they were in the center house too- that would have been a lot warmer

we got there at 9:30- had good seats

I can't believe you drove up from Portland to hear Obama- but that is cool- did you get stuck in the mess down around Olympia?

I would agree we have crappy drivers- but your bicylists are insane - and at least you can read Portlands street signs.

I parked on top of Queen Anne- and took the bus down- and then walked back up when it was over- avoided the traffic and motorcades though.
