So the country will happily go along with the same foreign policy of the last 7 years that got us in the royally fucked position that we are in now?
And in exit polls, the biggest concern has been the economy... McCain doesn't have a shot with that one.My whole life

Obama has carried predominantly Red states that will NEVER go for him in the general election AND he could not carry the very necessary Democratic stalwart States. So lets talk about that math..
Do you honestly think that in a general election, Obama, wouldn't win New York, or any other traditionaly Blue state? Thats a stupid argument. Of course he would. They're blue states and the democratic nominee is pretty likely to win them. i could win those states as the democratic nominee in a genreral election against a republican. The test is in those red and purple states where Oama has done very well. In fact, this argument actually works AGAINST the cuntons if you really stop to analyze it."When all your friends and sedatives mean well but make it worse... better find yourself a place to level out."0 -

I don't know why anyone hasn't called her out on that. What's the one swing state in a general that Hillary has won? Ohio. What swing state has Obama won? Missouri, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Virginia.
She wins these solid blue states because she is an old school Democrat. To suggest that these states would be won by John McCain is possibly the dumbest thing I have ever heard.0 -

Exactly. Its a typical example of clinton spin that doesn't make the slightest bit of sense. It would be very wise for the Obama camp to take this argument, turn it around, and slap the taste out of her mouth with it. i don't know why they havn't done that yet."When all your friends and sedatives mean well but make it worse... better find yourself a place to level out."0 -
Hollyweird wrote:I read that article long before you posted. Amazing this internet thing. That's one dudes opinions. I can post a counter article that makes an argument she can win. I saw a great one last night on CNN. Point is she can win on the math. Not denying it would be tough. But if she can get it to the convention how can they NOT talk about at least Florida? Didn't the Democrats learn their lesson in 2000 that you cant win without Florida? So disenfranchise their voters. Smart move. The party declared them ineligible, not the candidates. In Florida everyone was on the ballot and everyone played by the rules. The rule was wrong and you and I both know that if Obama needed those delegates to win, do you think he would just roll? I dont think so.
The one part of the article I did agree with and actually predicted was Jim Webb for Vice President......with Hillary Clinton. Awesome ticket. Clinton has lots of baggage but you know how low the GOP plays. The dirt on Obama is just as bad, it's just different dirt that won't play well in the general election. His quotes on Castro, Chavez, and Ahmadnijad alone could cost him the election. McCain will drive that shit right down his throat. U watch
Interesting article.....
BTW Holly weirdo.....
Republicans punished Florida and Michigan as well, not as harsh however both of those states broke the rules that were previously set.....
McCain won't drive shit down his throat why do you think McCain is attacking Obama now? Because he is scared he wants to face Hillary not Obama because he thinks he can beat Hilary not Obama....
What people seem to not see as well is that if Hillary when the nomination thus possible the presidency is that will be over 30 years of Bushes and Clintons in the white house...... a modern day kingdom or dynasty. That is very upsetting to me that two families can have control of this control for a majority of my life.

Well, yeah, because the Democratic race is still contested. McCain's been running away with the Republican race for some time. I didn't vote in it, because what's the point? McCain had it in the bag by then.

Ummmm no...... he is slightly the frontrunner but some would say the Hilary has the momentum therefore he should be attacking them equally....
however as McCain sits on the toilet thinking to himself he thinks that he would rather face Hilary cuz he can win as there are many Dems and Indies that will not vote for her that would vote for Obama**CUBS GO ALL THE WAY IN......never **0 -

You Obama robots sure have foul mouths. Seems like the pending "do overs" you all promised wouldn't happen in Michigan and Florida have you all pretty edgy....Guess what, it's happening as I said it would. Maybe you should run. Would be educational for you since you don't know shit about National politics.0 -

You know. It's funny. From the beginning of this whole Dem side of the race, my state's biggest newspaper has fallen over themselves dissing Hillary. They're still at it. They endorsed Obama on the Democratic side of the ticket, and you cannot open the paper without seeing either a hideous picture of Hillary or some invective-filled cartoon of her. The one today has "The Clinton Machine" (which they recently declared was overrated, if it ever did exist in essence as it does in mythology--of course, this was prior to Clinton's recent wins) about to steamroll over an angelic looking Obama. She has that trademark evil gleam in her eye. She's just so awful!
My point, though, besides reharping on the media's portrayal of Hillary vs. Obama, is that Republican controlled media is running a campaign against Hillary. Why? Why is that??? Here's Obama, the frontrunner...and my Republican owned paper continues to focus narrowly on everything negative they can regarding Hillary while saying very little about what one might believe would be their focus...the presumed "other guy" in the race against McCain. This whole thing keeps nagging at me. They must fear Hillary far more than Obama to keep this up. Either that, or Obamania has reached such heights at the paper that they don't care if McCain--their guy--loses to him during the election. And I just can hardly believe the latter is the case.
All I can think is that the Republicans--and my local paper hardly stand alone--can slay the gorgon of Hillary, Obama will be mincemeat. Why else would anyone focus so much attention on the secondary contender? It's been a bonus to Obama, that's for sure. Not one he necessarily has asked for, if you ask me, even if he has privately prayed for it. But still. In what Republican interests is it to help Obama slay Hillary politically?
Also...it ain't over 'til it's over. With Hillary's track record in this race, seeing her come back is deja vu all over again. (Yogi Berra)0 -

I think rightwing news outlets do it just because it's red meat for their readers/listeners. Everyone on the right hates Hilary, so those stories are easy to get attention.
If anything, I think it's opposite for the McCain campaign and his surrogates. They have been all over Obama and it seems like them and the Clinton camp are playing off each other with the same criticisms of Obama. You hardly ever hear McCain makes comments aimed at Hilary. My whole life

I agree with the original poster. Hilary should just fuck off out of it. She's a pain in the ass. And if she ever did get elected she'd no doubt feel the need to 'prove her manliness' - a-la Thatcher - and start another wr somewhere. She's a power hungry, vindictive, bitch, and would be nothing but trouble.0

Bill had bunch of girls he raped or had affairs with killed, apparently.
Not sure what hillary's deal was.
Her dad was a big mob boss in chicago, which apparently was why Bill married her.
Both of them are alleged to be US Intellegence spooks, too.
At least that is what Larry Nichols says.
Where the fuck do people get this stuff, really? I remember hearing this crap back when Bill was president. Also, this just in, Barrack Obama's middle name is Hussein. Hussein! Why the fuck would we elect a muslim?!

Although I agree that it's odd that many right wing outlets haven't been extremely critical of Obama, I think that their motives of bashing Hillary are clear.
It doesn't sound like your paper fits the bill, but folks like Rush, etc., have been telling republicans to get out and crossover to vote for Hillary. They absolutely WANT to face Hillary...but, you can't encourage crossvoting and appear to like her, thus they dismiss her as an evil woman who makes for a great joke.
Honestly, and I could be wrong, I think that Obama's just a good candidate, and the right wing media knows it. Although more a libertarian now, I used to be a republican. I disagree with many of Obama's policies but, quite honestly, he's what this country needs right now....a positive image, a positive attitude, a born negotiator, a great manager (his campaign is the most impressive I've seen in a looong time), and an outstanding motivator. The GOP is the GOP, they've definitely got their guys who would never vote the other way no matter how bad their own candidate was...but to many, in the back of their minds, they have to understand what trouble this nation is in right now and have to understand that Obama "could be" the answer we've been looking for. It's rather difficult to talk trash about a man you respect. It's rather easy to talk trash about a man/woman whom you have no respect for."Worse than traitors in arms are the men who pretend loyalty to the flag, feast and fatten on the misfortunes of the nation while patriotic blood is crimsoning the plains." -- Abraham Lincoln0 -
