Has anyone else lost hope in the human race?

Why the hell do assholes rule the world on every level? Yet the people who bust their asses night after night day after day and who actually HAVE SOME COMMMON COURTESY get fucked and thrown to the curb like some fucking whore. And when we're not being fucked, when the assholes actually see the good in us and see the fact that we work hard and actually have a soul, they exploit it. I can't take much more of this bullshit reality in which we live. This kinda thing makes you rethink life. If assholes rule this earth, does it stop here. When you die, and if you believe in God or Allah or heaven what will you do if you get through the gates and god is using you. If he/she's exploiting your strengths to suit his/her needs. what if we're just an object of entertainment in gods toy chest. What if Gods is just as pretencious and pompous as all of our bosses.
What if we don't truly die. what if we just enter an alternate conciousness which is just more of the same. You're born =>You grow => go to school => get ridiculed and tortured =>get a job=>get dicked around at that job=>die.
Honestly, i have lost all hope for the human race. It is being infested by a deadly virus. The germs that have no respect for their fellow human being (not fellow man, not fellow woman, not fellow americans, not fellow whites, blacks, straights gays. FELLOW HUMANS) are taking over. The bacteria that believe they are better than any single soul among us are eating away at the rotted flesh of harmony.
It's out of control.
There is no stopping it.
We can only sit back and watch

I always try to keep an optimistic outlook. From my own experience, when I focus on the good I want to see and actually take part in the changes I think we/I need...I start seeing it more in everyone else. Peace to you.
Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.
-Oscar Wilde
he told me that if you want to learn in life... always learn the good things from people... never look at their bad side and never judge their wrongdoings... instead remember them for the good things they've done in life and learn from that.
wait a minute, wait a minute.... so i guess if we're talking about hitler here... we can look at his magnificent strategic war tactics and turn them around and use it for something good... i dunno... i gotta go talk to my dad again...
I lost all hope in the human race years ago. You can turn it into a positive though. You can begin to take things, including yourself, less seriously, with the knowledge that you have no control over the outside world anyway. All we can do is live to the fullest with the fact of our inevitable death looming over the horizon.
You should check out a couple of books. I'd be interested to know what you think of them...
1. Henry Miller's 'Tropic of Capricorn'
2. Albert Camus' 'The Myth of Sisyphus'.
And if you want something to gel with your current outlook of disgust with humanity then check out Louis Ferdinand Celine's 'Journey to the end of the night'.
Know that people turn to knowledge, in these hard times, and know that knowledge never ends, my friend.
We can all do things -- GREAT things -- when we become so disgusted and fed up with what we have lying at our feet. We can defeat the apathy, we can defeat the Mainstream Media, we can defeat the politicians who have been breastfed on the wrong milk of Bush/Cheney.....we can do it.
Never lose your skill of asking. But gain the skill of answering.
We can do it.
great... more books to add to my reading list...
i don't know if it's a good or bad thing, but the older I get (i'm 31 now), the less rage I have towards the world/human race. part of it may be the simple fact that i no longer work for minimum wage and live fairly comfortably. maybe the bigger part of it is that my attitudes towards the world around me have changed. negative emotions don't help much, and even though there is an incredible amount of injustice in the world and chaos in the universe, it seems like everything will work out in the end... the end being about 37 trillion years from now.

There is good and there is bad in all people. Now, whether you choose to focus on the bad or the good sides, is your choice. Focus on bad may make you bitter and cynical, while looking at the good may make you feel all fuzzy inside. Learn and repeat the good, but I would also add to learn and not repeat from the bad. Life is what you make it.
As for losing hope in humanity, it sounds like joejoes problem is the hierarchal labour market of current capitalism. That may change, and also quite quickly if one take the long view. To despair and to hope are two very closely related things (read sandman, how the endless define their counterparts, and despair thus defines hope), and which you choose to focus on, may have repercussions in the rest of your life as well. I'm going with good, and think Abook said it very nicely. I'm optimistic.

Losing hope in government is another thing!
...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.
There's plenty of shitheads out there, that something I've come to accept but likewise there's a ridiculous amount people with good hearts that give themselves selflessly to help their fellow human beings.
Thinking too much about politics will always get you down because it's almost always focusing on a negative aspects of society.
"Don't let 'em get ya down, all these rich bastards with their big funny looking fucking heads,'Awww Rupert says the economies fucked, what are we gonna do?' Try shooting Rupert ya stupid Fuckers"- Billy Connelly
That's the sweetest thing I've ever heard.
I also believe that you have to stand up for yourself a little because it is human nature to survive and we as humans have more of a conscience than other animals.
Everybody has bad days, and I think sometimes people can be greatly misunderstood.
welcome to the club joe. it was started after WWII when people became greedy and started thinking only of themselves. they forgot their responsabilities to family; community; and to the earth that gave them life.
it's too late for mankind even if everyone changed overnight. too much damage has been done and everyone was too busy pointing fingers to do anything about it.
if you can't beat 'um; join 'um. treat people the way they treat you. you can't save the world; but you can try to save yourself.
if you check this one out from a library, i strongly recommend returning it.
I love this post. Yes, society and humanity is going to Hell in a handbasket. But if we concentrate on the negative, that negativity only grows every where around you, and one becomes even more miserable and cynical. It's difficult to turn that off, but having hope and focusing on the optimistic brings good karma around you also. I believe your state of mind spreads outwards, and the refusal to see the bad in humanity will only increase the good in it. I'm a natural pessimist, so it's a struggle for me, but it really works. There are good people out there, it's not all bad. Turn off your t.v. Ignore mainstream media. They only fuel the fire. To make the most of finding goodness in humanity, changing your initial outlook is necessary and the results will follow. Being part of the solution rather than focusing on the problem, does wonders to your overall outlook. I completely believe that standing up for what you believe in, with a solution in mind, contributes to a better society.
What we need is a revolution. The US government has grown way too powerful. The only problem with the whole revolution thing is that people are conditioned from birth not to care about their freedoms and civil rights, so long as they're able to be comfortable. The government has figured out a formula that works quite well for keeping the people docile: condition them with the idea that they have freedom, but in reality no one really is free. Do we really have any rights anymore? I can't think of one constitutional right that hasn't been trampled on and used as ass-wiping fodder.
We don't even really have basic rights, like the ability to own land. Your money and assets can be seized at any time if someone even mentions to the IRS that you may be committing tax fraud.
The good news is that I'm starting to see more and more people awaken from this daze; I'm starting to feel the rumble of social upheaval just on the horizon. When it does come, it won't be soon enough :-D
