    They would spray them and arrest people who plant them.

    Anyway, as soon as I live alone, I'm planting my own.

    OMg your so paranoid... how the hell is the government gonna start arresting people if all pot smokers saved their seeds and planted them outside... who the hell is gonna know? Whoose plants they are... plant the seeds and leave them alone... dont pull off the buds and smoke let them seed and establish.... :P
  • It's pretty fantastic the seed to plant ratio you can get in a controlled environment. I've seen some females that have offered up more than 100 seeds per medium size bud.

    The countryside could easily be over grown.
    Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
    and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
    over specific principles, goals, and policies.

    You know it dude! I think it should be a grassroots operation done privately by all pot smokers...... so nobody knows whom the hell planting them.... just plant and take off and just let nature do its thing.....

    Wouldn't introducing a plant into a new environment have a potentially negative impact on the area?

    It would make the area lethargic and hungry for Cheetohs. If the area isn't careful, the area might wind up losing its job at the independent record store.

    I tried growing my own once. I germinated the seeds and put them in fertilizer out in the woods. The tallest plant only grew about 3 or 4 inches and then died. I still don't know wtf i did wrong.

    I agree - free Mary Jane! I don't think we're going to do it by planting a bunch of pot plants though.

    Here are a few things we can do:

    * Write congress
    * Attend a march/rally/festival (if you're in Seattle, Hempfest is August 16-17 http://hempfest.org/drupal/)
    * Talk to people, inform them of the many uses of marijuana (medical, commerical, etc.)

    It really is time to stop filling the jails with good citizens!

    This could be a lot of fun with all of the public spaces out there.
    Walking can be a real trip

    Did I done good? :p

    (wasn't me...but I've accidentally dropped a seed or two on public property before :) )
  • Ha!!! I've been at this for many years....

    I still have a fairly large stand in the runoff ditch outside the local Wal-Mart, I started it the summer we went to war...they never mow it and it just continues to go to seed every year.

    Another good public place to start the seeds is in the forks and rotted out hollows of trees in the local parks... no one ever sees them growing in the trees.

    Also you can place your seeds in your birdfeeder and the little birdies will poop them out willy nilly all over the city.

    How many people you think will actually remember to show up at Hempfest?

    "Dude, what day is it?

    "I don't know man, like orange or something?"

    Hah! That's funny - although that's not the case at all...it's actually quite difficult to smoke with all the cops crawling about the place and the way the park is situated. It's held in a very long and skinny park on the Seattle waterfront that has one entrance/exit.

    To quote the website:

    "OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE
    To educate the public on the myriad of potential benefits offered by the Cannabis plant, including the medicinal, industrial, agricultural, economic, environmental, and other benefits and applications, including domestic industrial hemp production and commerce. In particular, Seattle Hempfest seeks to advance the cause of Cannabis policy reform through education, while advancing the public image of the Cannabis advocate or enthusiast through example."

    Wasn't there a shooting there last year? :)

    You can smoke in Seattle, from what I hear. I heard it's kind of tolerated now. I know I've puffed in that park at the end of Pike Place w/ cops all around.
