The title of this thread is laughable. Final warning. Ooooh spooky. Sounds like it's right out of the McCain fear tactics playbook.

When are you gonna wake up and realize that any president elected these days is going to raise taxes with 2 wars worth billions, an 800 billion + bailout, and over 10 trillion + deficit? We all have to pay taxes. The only difference is on who they are going to raise the taxes. McCain will raise them on the lower to middle class and Obama will raise them on the wealthy (people making over $250,000) It's not common sense to vote for who you're voting for?

This morning On Morning Joe, Joe Scarsborrough asked Rudy Guiliani to set the record straight. He said that all this noise being made about Obama being a socialist or anti-American or that he will end the America as we know it so far fetched and he wanted to hear what Rudy had to say. Rudy basically agreed, he said that Obama was a good man and that he would not destroy the country or turn us into a socialist nation. This coming from two Republicans.

Well that's the thing it's gotten so out of hand that even some Republicans are having to defend Obama because a) they know they're probably gonna lose this election and b) they know people are going to remember all these BS accusations when it's all over.

I don't get why they are spreading so much animosity. If I was McCain I definitely would have help some type of news conference by now and told my supporters to cut the shit even if I knew it might cost me the election, you know country first. I don't like Obama's policies but you sure don't see me calling him a socialist, anti-american, terrorist or even a N. I don't like McCain's policies either and I don't say shit about him. We are Americans first but some people put their political party affiliation first. It really is pretty fucked up.

That's what I am wondering about right wing talk radio after this election if Obama wins. Obviously they have some blind followers who will listen and believe everything, but what about the casual listeners? After hearing for weeks how this "expert" on the radio says that our economy will be ruined, our country will be run into the ground, how Obama is taking us the same route as Hitler took Germany, etc., and none of that happens, how can they have any credibility with any "free thinking" person?

Absolutely. All it's doing is dividing this country. Robo calls implying "he pals around with terrorists?" All the other BS accusations. People who don't know better are probably scared as shit and when Obama gets elected they're gonna be scared that some terrorist is in the White House. It's absurd. What really pisses me off is the silence from the McCain campaign on this stupid bitch who lied about being attacked and having the 'B' for Barack carved in her face. The McCain campaign was calling news outlets when it came out to try and push the story that it was an Obama supporter, and now that it's come out they haven't even said anything about it? They can't even say "this is despicable, we don't condone this by our supporters..." SOMETHING. They haven't said shit! The bitch was a fucking McCain campaign volunteer. WTF?

As if they have any credibility now.

Good point... and as I was typing that, I should have stopped when I got to "casual listeners". Because I don't think those people really exist. Either you listen because you believe all the crap, or you listen because you disagree with all the crap, I don't think that there is much of a middle ground in their listeners.

So, disregard my last post :)

Someone in the GOP needs to step up and calm down their supporters. I would expect any political party to do so. This is a time when we need to be united as a country to get us through this fucked up mess, not at each other's throats. I have to say back in 2000 I had a tremendous amount of respect for John McCain. I wished that he would have been our president instead of Bush. I fully supported him in the Republican primaries and would have voted for him in the general election. Now though my image of him is tarnished. He has allowed his campaign and the hangers on to run a despicable campaign. The fact that he has not stoop up and called for all the bullshit to stop is just wrong.

Yeah McCain 2000 and McCain 2004 are way different. I've heard many people say that. McCain IS Bush now. He morphed into him somehow. I know that's an Obama talking point but it's actually true. Not just his policies but his whole attitude on how to run the campaign.
