for the least they could possibly do

i believe the more appropriate question would be:

    "does ANYONE like those songs?"

and no. i hate those songs. yield would be perfect without wishlist. i thank whatever powers that be they left leatherman off of it as well.

Stone is the father of grunge as we know it. He literally invented it while in Green River and bands like Soundgarden and Nirvana heard it and were like "Man, those guys are on to something!" Listen to that famous compilation Deep Six. Green River is the most grungy out of all. The rest are either too metally or too hardcore or too punky. Green River was the perfect balance, thanks in large part to Stone's riffs and guitar sound. Cobain definitely got all of his ideas from these early recordings.

    You're crazy.
Eddie Vedder is golden. He could have hacks around him or great writers and still shine. Yes, they all have talent. But, in my opinion, Eddie's the draw.

Of course he's got a ton of charisma and he's just great.
But Stone is the man responsible for Pearl Jam, there's no question about that.

I know, I know the history. But I think Eddie would be equally as successful had he never met them.
    It's just his path.

P.S. I can't even listen to "Ten" anymore and that's what drew me ironically.
    It sounds wierd.

I have to disagree. I don't think Eddie would be where he is without PJ, but I also don't think PJ would be where they are without him.

Ed co-wrote the music for Come Back with Mike.

First off Wishlist is not the greatest.
2nd, I think Stone wouldn't be what he is without Ament, and their 'long term relationship'.
I agree it's primarily Stone's band, but they need Ed's chutzpah.

Ok then. I guess it doesn't make a difference that Kurt named Green River among other bands from the time (Malfunkshun, for example) as a major influence? Oh wait I guess the fact that Kurt hates Pearl Jam means that he didn't get any ideas from those guys?

I mean just look at some of the songs Stone has written:

    * songs that he also wrote the lyrics for

    Once
    Even Flow
    Alive
    Black
    Breath
    Footsteps
    Brother*
    Hold On
    Animal
    Hard To Imagine
    Spin The Black Circle
    Satan's Bed
    Mankind*
    Don't Gimme No Lip*
    No Way*
    Do The Evolution
    In Hiding
    All Those Yesterdays*
    Strangest Tribe*
    Thin Air*
    Of The Girl*
    Rival*
    Fatal*
    Bu$hleaguer
    All Or None
    Life Wasted
    Parachutes
    Wasted Reprise

You could make an entire fuckin Greatest Hits album out of that! Unbelievable!
