I stumbled onto this yesterday. I havent stopped thinking about this story since I read it. I cant imagine what those kids went thru.

This happened early in 2007 and I had never heard of it and I lived in the same state that it happened in! I just searched the message pit and it came up in 1 post.

Why was this particular story completely swept under the rug? No national media covered this story......

i really dont think the media reaction or lack there of was racially motivated.

the more disturbing question that arises, though is that we have become so desensitized to violence that these things barely raise eyebrows anymore.

Very few things have made me as mad in these last few years as school shootings. They are a horrific loss of life, and no one seems to seriously discuss in society what needs to be done about them. Yet, I fully expect to see every single day news of a new shooting. Kids are expected now to have school shootings. And when they occur, the media coverage isnt like it was during columbine.

So I think the media's reaction to this was disturbing in that, it was almost like "hey this stuff happens"

That was probably the most disgusting thing I've ever read.Just horrific.Doesn't matter if race was involved,the people who carried it out are still monsters.
