Dont get mad, Iron Maiden, The Trooper, ala MSG 2003, a punk version with lukinesque type vibe, that would be WAY out there man.... They are musical genuises, they can pull it off.

don't let it bring you down was such a good call.

i'd like to hear them cover the pixies- gigantic maybe?

you want to hear eddie sing a song meant for a womans voice on the subject of yearning for a big cock?
"Stunned by my own reflection, It's looking back, sees me too clearly and I swore I'd never go there again, Not unlike a friend that politely drags you down, down, down"

When you see me on the street, yell out "FAVO!!!"

I've been to alot of Pearl Jam shows; So fucking what.

    Rock Music - Pixies
Don't Do It - The Band
Rockaway Beach - The Ramones (this would be great at the MSG shows since Rockaway Beach is only a few miles from MSG).

I'll third the votes for Bastards of Young and second Black Throated Wind. I say it every time I see these threads, I'd love to hear the boys cover the GD's Throwing Stones, it's probably the only GD song I think where PJ could improve upon the original. The song needs angst, and the GD just don't have the angst Eddie and the boys can bring to it.

    "Shipping powders back and forth
Singing black goes south and white comes north.
In a whole world full of petty wars
Singing I got mine and you got yours.
And the current fashion sets the pace,
Lose your step, fall out of grace.
And the radical, he rant and rage,
Singing someone's got to turn the page.
And the rich man in his summer home,
Singing just leave well enough alone.
But his pants are down, his cover's blown...

    And the politicians throwin' stones,
    So the kids they dance
    And shake their bones,
And it's all too clear we're on our own.
Singing ashes, ashes, all fall down.
    Ashes, ashes, all fall down."
Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash and I’m
delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

paint it black would be cool. Would love Sympothy for the Devil.

THANKS for NOT making me the ONLY person to suggest a Leonard Cohen song...if you've EVER heard EVERYBODY KNOWS by him you KNOW this would be a great PJ cover:

    "Everybody Knows"

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
    That's how it goes
    Everybody knows
Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
    Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died

    Everybody talking to their pockets
Everybody wants a box of chocolates
    And a long stem rose
    Everybody knows

Everybody knows that you love me baby
Everybody knows that you really do
Everybody knows that you've been faithful
Ah give or take a night or two
    Everybody knows you've been discreet
But there were so many people you just had to meet
    Without your clothes
    And everybody knows

    Everybody knows, everybody knows
    That's how it goes
    Everybody knows

    Everybody knows, everybody knows
    That's how it goes
    Everybody knows

And everybody knows that it's now or never
Everybody knows that it's me or you
And everybody knows that you live forever
Ah when you've done a line or two
Everybody knows the deal is rotten
Old Black Joe's still pickin' cotton
    For your ribbons and bows
    And everybody knows

And everybody knows that the Plague is coming
Everybody knows that it's moving fast
Everybody knows that the naked man and woman
Are just a shining artifact of the past
Everybody knows the scene is dead
But there's gonna be a meter on your bed
    That will disclose
    What everybody knows

And everybody knows that you're in trouble
Everybody knows what you've been through
From the bloody cross on top of Calvary
    To the beach of Malibu
    Everybody knows it's coming apart
Take one last look at this Sacred Heart
    Before it blows
    And everybody knows

    Everybody knows, everybody knows
    That's how it goes
    Everybody knows

    Oh everybody knows, everybody knows
    That's how it goes
    Everybody knows

    Everybody knows
I was alone and far away when I heard the band start playing!

...I was always a DeadHead, but when I first heard Winston Rodney, aka the Burning Spear, sing, I became a SpearHead too!

Anything Australian! People have aleady mentioned Mignight Oil & AC/DC, but I would love to see a Hoodoo Gurus cover (Good Times, Right Time or Miss Free Love) or a Cold Chisel one (Flame Trees or You Got Nothing I Want).

I thought Paint it Black and Sympathy for the Devil were songs by the Rolling Stones. Or am I being dense here?

    throwing stones would be nice

but I think they should end every show with

    RIPPLE

If my words did glow with the gold of sunshine
And my tunes were played on the harp unstrung,
Would you hear my voice come thru the music,
Would you hold it near as it were your own?

    It's a hand-me-down, the thoughts are broken,
    Perhaps they're better left unsung.
    I don't know, don't really care
Let there be songs to fill the air.

Tori Amos's version is a killer though:
