Bin Laden urges Pakistanis to revolt

CAIRO, Egypt - Al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden called on Pakistanis to rebel against President Pervez Musharraf in a new recording released on Thursday, saying his military's siege of a militant mosque stronghold this year makes him an infidel.

The storming of the Red Mosque in Islamabad in July "demonstrated Musharraf's insistence on continuing his loyalty, submissiveness and aid to America against the Muslims ... and makes armed rebellion against him and removing him obligatory," bin Laden said in the message.

"So when the capability is there, it is obligatory to rebel against the apostate ruler, as is the case now," he said, according to a transcript released by Laura Mansfield, a U.S. terrorism expert who monitors militant message traffic.

Bin Laden's voice was heard over video showing previously released footage of the terror leader. It was released Thursday on Islamic militant Web sites.

    it makes no sense why bin laden would do this, pakistan (tribal areas) have to be the last area on earth bin laden can go.... but have at it fellas....

    The reason is in the story you posted. A few of the things that the Bin man has done dosen't make sense. But then again there is a lot of things that don't make sense in this world.

    it was a rhetorical question. I know, literally, why he is doing this, but im just saying he is stupid for doing so. why bash your only safe haven?

    Because behind the curtain in Pakistan that their Prez is Bush's right hand man over there. There population don't really run with the pack. If you know what I mean.

    Do you think that there is another nut job over in Pakistan who is going to search for the Bin Man to collect those Yankee millions? I personally don't think so. He is as safe as safe can be in or around Pakistan.

    what? of course no cares about the yanks millions. but they do care about bin laden trying to start a civil war. there are many who support musarhiff even though he is a friend of bush.

    Osama has a lot of support in Pakistan that is why Mussaraf doesnt go after him. Its a dicey situation and I think its the root of the so called war on terrorism. The problem is not Irak or Afganistan, its Pakistan. If Mussaraf were to be taken out by an extream religious nut job that simpathyzes with Osama then thats when the shit hit the fan.

    aint that the truth. the biggest fuck up by bush has to be leaving Afghanistan too soon and starting the whole Iraq mess. stay the course in Afghanistan asshole. Iraq didnt attack us.

    I'll make a bold prediction and say that Osama will be dead 2 years after the next prez takes office. i think he's alive because Bush is far too stupid to ever catch him. Or maybe its too late diplomatically to ever try to go into Pakistan. pre-iraq we could have done that no problem.

    I have always felt that one of the most dangerous countries in the world is Pakistan. They are one assassination away from becoming the new Afghanistan... Usama is a favorite name for new born boys... and they already have nuclear capabilities and tested delivery systems.

    Bin Laden is like Elvis...he'll never die until there's no more use for him.
    Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
