OK....I consider myself to be a pretty major PJ fan, have all the CDs, go to the shows, etc.

BUT....I dont have one single PJ DVD so thought I would ask the crowd here to see what kind of opinions I get about which one to start with. I DO have an old VHS tape of 'Touring Band 2000' but kinda wanted to start with something different...

What do YA'LL think???

  • I'd say to go with L@TG or Showbox based on which setlist you like better. Most bang for your buck there.

Immagine is awesome, just so short. Same with SVT

  • Personally I dig Imagine, its great hear (and seeing) blood, Alive, SOLAT etc. However I didnt really like the Avacado album, but I dig the interludes and doc side of the film as well. MSG dvd is ok but the set list didnt really impress me in the first disc. Black is great, RVM and in my tree as well, but a lot of Riot Act in there as well, disc two is strong with Crown of Thorns, Breath, Yellow Ledbetter Daughter w/ Ben Harper. I say just go with whatever set list you enjoy more, personally though I find Imagine more visually appealing. Ed looks weird with short hair and a polo shirt in MSG, cant quite get past that.

Touring Band 2000, or Live at the Garden are good ones.
That is until they(if they ever) release Unplugged, which in my opinion would be their best, and probably most popular one.

Live at the Showbox is a great DVD with a great setlist. I like seeing the band starting at the beginning of a show and progressing through till the end. Immagine is a great album, but the first song on the DVD, Ed is covered in sweat. I don't know, just me I guess. The compilation DVD's are good but L@TG and Showbox are my faves.

The first one I got was SVT, and a great buy it is. Lately I've been watching Immagine, and that's also great. I'd advise you to get Immagine first, and then SVT, and then build up yr collection with any of the others. They're all worth buying. I just watched Immagine last night, and think it's totally enjoyable.

SVT - Very personal & up close - a gift from the band to it's fans.

TB2000 - A real Gem. Ed dancing with the chick from St Lois will bring a tear to you eye if you have a soul.

Showbox - Just got this one on Saturday. I now have a new favorite Daughter.

LATGarden - If you have testicles, Evolution it will blow them completly off.
Not sure what effect it has on women. Awesome special features.

IIC - Beautiful Work of Art from start to finish. Would love to have seen it on the big screen.

    I hope this helps.

Cause if my move tomorrow, I won't have cable installed till next week. I wonder if u should pick up showbox or imagine....I wonder if a local store will have them. I would normally buy anything PJ from 10c, but the order would arrive after the cable....I shouldn't be thinking at this hour.

  • All the dvds are pretty good and if you own them all you can see the band evolving, my favourite is immagine in cornice, as I feel the band have got better live, if you want the full live experience live at the garden is a good purchase, rearviewmirror is spellbinding.
