He gets my vote. He has "Ed" in his last name. That's a good enough reason for me.

Huh? I was talking about people voting in general, whether it be for senator, president, or mayor. People look more to personal qualities like charisma than the candidate's stand on important issues.

And the president plays a large role in determining policy, especially foreign policy. Congress passes bills. Bills are not laws until the president ok's them. The only way around that is to override a veto which is very difficult. The president and congress are constantly working together on policy.

fair enough. personally, id rather vote for someone i feel is an honest person who will be open-minded and willing to compromise and act with our best interests in mind than someone who is a narrow-minded ideologue who will not bend on anything becos he's already made up his mind on every issue.

my sister got me a signed copy of his new book for me for christmas. I really like the guy...I wouldn't mind him as president.

Not all honest people are open-minded, and not all people who have stances on issues are narrow-minded and unwilling to change their stances in the future.

no, but i think edwards is one of those who possesses both qualities. he has a sincere dedication to his country and to combatting poverty and i also think he is willing to hear ideas from both sides on what to do about it. i think he's a decent man and one who is willing to hear people out. i dont know all of his stances on minute fringe issues, but i dont care. his heart and his priorities seem to be in the right place, and i like him.
