Final 2 years

Having watched the political changes over the last several years, the next two are going to be probably the most interesting. Bush's final two years, IMHO are possibly going to be far more positive than since 9/11. This is not a prediction of some great hope of mine that Bush will save his legacy. I just think the stage is set rather well for our political system to show some serious signs of improvement.

With the opposition controlling the Congress, and seemingly everyone seriously concerned about the future of our country, maybe some things are going to actually get done the right way. Seems like the rubber band has been stretched just about as far as it can be, and there may be a sense of uniting on common ground, with real debate, as we move forward. There is no re-election for Bush to fight for, and there is a desire by both the Pres and Congress to affect change that is important. And disagreements may be more easily managed since Bush stands quite alone, with low approval, and on the ropes.

Unless there is something wrong with you...most people are hopeful that the situation in Iraq will be resolved with the least amount of bloodshed. And most people want their country to moving forward rather than bickering. And there is also a desire from most to improve our standing in the world, seen as a compassionate and trustworthy superpower that humbly tries to good in the world.

Guess we will see. Interested in other opinions.
