I think that would be a nice reward if the band played every state in 2009 that votes to get the republicans out of office in 2008.

And make it a huge publicity thing.

democrats don't deserve that. what have they done since taking over the congress?

why should we believe anything would be different if a dem gets the white house?

I don't think they deserve it either. I do think change is needed.

Agreed. They should play every county (or at it's closest realistic venue) that votes 3rd.
I cannot come up with a new sig till I get this egg off my face.

    i'm with ya.

as for PJ, i think they should play 15 or so shows in the greater NYC area because.. well.. just because.

i have a better idea- how about if they played GRATIS in every state that had 50% or greater voter turnout, regardless of how they voted? that would be rewarding democracy in action.

i am looking forward to another vote for change tour this year... ed has already said he will be playing some dates leading up to the election... so hopefully he can pull in the whole band... that 2004 VFC tour was probably my favorite PJ tour yet... and that is saying ALOT
  • i think (and hope) what ed would appreciate more is people actually registering to vote and going out to vote.

Picking between two people who are backed by exactly the same companies is not democracy.

But I agree with the original post, I think that Pearl Jam really has a moral obligation to try to increase divisiveness in this country based on fake distinctions like as parties...

I'm kinda over the 'South' jokes. If PJ can play 12 shows in Oz, it can't be that hard to venture down South and play for the loyal fans there. It must suck to be continually ignored like that. For serious.

the act of voting is democracy in action.

whether they give us decent candidates or not doesn't detract from that.

Didn't they already do this in 2006? I mean PJ basically played blue states with the only red states having concerts being Ohio, Colorado, and Nevada.

I don't agree with collective punishment...

and i believe Stone said the reason they didn't play the South last time was simply due to the lack of support, and it just wasn't economically feasible. i guess we can blame (and simultaneously applaud) Ed's anti-Bush antics during the '03 tour for that.
