    There's a turnout for the books ;)
"I remember one night at Muzdalifa with nothing but the sky overhead, I lay awake amid sleeping Muslim brothers and I learned that pilgrims from every land — every colour, and class, and rank; high officials and the beggar alike — all snored in the same language"

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

Regardless of how you feel about Obama or what your political ideology is, we saw history last night. Just think that not even 50 years ago black people where not allowed to use the same bathroom, they had to give up their seat for a white person on the bus, they where treated like second class citizens simply because of the color of their skin. Now one has been elected to be our president. I can honestly say, even though i didn't vote for him, that I am truly proud of my country today. I never thought in my lifetime that I would see this country elect a black president. If you are a McCain supporter or a 3rd party candidate supporter at the very least take solice in this.

Agreed, but again, does it always have to be about the man's race?

Since when is it always about race? We just elected a black president for the FIRST TIME EVER. What are you missing here?

you would hope that race isn't an issue ... but it is ... there is idealism in all aspects of life ... thinking the world does not have it's prejudices is idealistic as well ...

It's not always about race but for a people who where so oppressed throughout the history of this country, this is a monumental moment for them.

it is a monumental moment for us ALL.
i think this is a grea,t unifying moment for america....and whether one is an obama supporter or not, CLEARLY the majority want to see in action the changes and progression that he represents, and hopes he will accomplish, set in motion. it's a GREAT day.
