I like McCain but Palin scares me to death.
I Kinda like Obama but I don't like a lot of what his party stands for.
I believe Obama really wants to make huge difference in office but I just can't get around his party.
I would be for McCain totally until Palin came along. That was a stupid choice and that make me rethink his decision making.

I have never been into politics until the past two years and I don't know much detail about any of it. But, this is how I feel from what I have read.

Anyone else still undecided?

Ive decided to vote for neither.

I wish there was a viable 3rd party to vote for. It seems like everyone is so slanted to one way or another as far as their party, people who are moderate and aren't registered to any party get left in the dust.

i felt like you until palin was selected. i liked mccain and kind of liked obama and was unsure. the selection of palin absolutely terrifies me and made my decision easy. i am 150% behind obama now. once i decided that it seemed so obvious and i wasn't sure why i was undecided to begin with. :)

So let me ask you.. how have the last 8 years been for you?

Your own words sound like you believe in Obama..

What about the democratic party bothers you?

Also.. remember Sarah Palin is one heartbeat away from presidency.. it sounds like you are as scared as I am about that terrifying thought.

i would say based on what i can figure out of you - either a vote for bob barr or cynthia mckinney ... barr is libertarian candidate which probably is more to your political leanings but he's not looked favourably amongst the boards libertarian conservatives ... mckinney is the green party candidate - but is probably a little too liberal for your liking ...
  • I Kinda like Obama but I don't like a lot of what his party stands for.

I'm just curious about this because this is a generalized statement that you've made here, but specifically, what is it you don't like?

I don't like all the goverment programs for minorities. I think they need to be much more strict when giving them everything for free. In Atlantic City I see people abuse the system everyday with goverment housing etc... It make me sick that they don't try to better themselves, instead they rely on people to help them.
I don't like all the breaks many of the far left judges in the country give to violent offenders.
I don't like that the far lefters make problems with Christmas trees in the town square or how they want to take out "One nation, under God" or "I god we trust".

I was for neither party for the longest however Sarah Pain is scary as hell to me and now I'd rather vote for Nader. Him I can believe, Obama has to rise up be DIFFERENT than McCain instead of "I agree with...."

If the "I agree with" is correct, why should he be different on those issues ...

People want bipartisan cooperation, then they criticize Obama for "I agree with John on XXX" ... but, if you listened to the debate, most of the I agree withs were quickly followed by "but where I disagree" and "a different way to approach it" ...

that "Obama said I agree with John McCain 9 times during the debate" ad was directed squarely at people who are too lazy to watch the entire debate.

I agree about welfare reform... something really needs done, but I have no idea how to pull that off.

But (at least to me) the two points that I quoted above shouldn't be directed at the democratic party. As far as judges, there are good and bad judges appointed by both parties. I know that the Bill O'Reilys of the world love to pick out certain cases and slam judges, but there are plenty of republican appointed judges that make decisions that are just as bad.

And the Christmas Tree or those types of God issues??? Since when is that in the democratic platform?

    1) 1/3 of which is going straight to Universal Health Care, and I think that's better spending than anything the Reps have done the last 8-years.
    2) What makes you think that ONLY minorities benefit from these fundings? Your statement is a bit close-minded, where I live, it's actually more poor whites who abuse these freebies. Maybe your local officials aren't doing enough with programs that help these people?
    3) don't know what you mean by that.
4,5,6) Why are these issues even in your consideration when the economy and the Iraq/War on Terrorism is by far more significant right now. I want these these sorted out right now.

I'm voting for Obama strictly because of the economic factor, foreign/War policies, and healthcare. Clearly, anything Obama offers is better than the the same old of last 8-years in my opinion.

It's confusing sometimes so I just have to separate the emotional issues from those issues that more encompassing benefits.

Right now I want to stop paying for wars and use that money to benefit people needing health care that can't afford insurance and $500 prescriptions every month.

That paint brush you use is pretty broad..

Liberal judges let child molesters second chances? HUH?

I can paint with a broad paintbrush too.. because there is also a conservative judge in my area that gives child molesters and rapists a slap on the hand.. so things happen ALL over the country.. you cannot blame the political affiliation in bad judges.

Also, what democrats exactly are making a "big deal about the god and holiday situations"?

A few things I like about Obama not mentioned are

open dialogue with our enemies. Nothing constructive can happen if there isnt a discussion.

Great plans for advancing our nation's education, including scrapping that terrible idea: 'no child left behind act'

Federal funding for science and research

He has better goals for the environment.

I don't like all the taxes.

Based on this tax proposal breakdown from the Washington Post, it looks like Obama is going to lower taxes overall and the end result won't be too different from McCain's proposal.

To me, these seem like local issues. So they may prompt you to not vote Democrat locally, but, unlike many more important things, I don't believe they're issues that will be decided by this presidential election. For instance, I don't think electing Obama brings any danger of "One nation, under God" being taken out of the pledge. I think there are far more dire consequences of electing McCain/Palin though.

or for me. big grass roots movement going to get me elected, and as president I would do the following things.

First declare an official apology to all the countries the US empire has stepped on.
Then I would pay reparations for all the damage these wars have caused, food for Afghani children, schools for Iraqi kids, hospitals for all. WE could even bid it out to Haliburton, and if they fuck up we can send them packing.
Then I would end the funding of these brutal terror states like Colombia, ISrael, Turkey, PAkistan. I would pull forces out of Mecca, ISlams holiest site. I would negotiate, not with bombs and war but with bilateral talks to any country where there is conflict.
Then I would eliminate merc forces like Blackwater and Aegis, these terrorists have no morals, and kill random civilians for sport. I"ve seen some prety sick videos about that.
Then I would give as much power as I could to majority, fix the media, put it back in the hands of the people.
I would hold corporations accountable for their actions, perhaps a police force designed to watch them.
I would cut the defense budget by half, using the trillions of dollars to save SS and eduction within the country. Lobbyists will be buned at the stake. I would free all non violent drug offenders in prision, freeing millions that really only wanted to get stoned. sand I would teach the plice they are public SERVANTS, not the strong arm of the state. They serve us, we don't bow to them.

By then I would be assassinated. Fuck it, its a small price to pay for freedom..

If you vote independent, you vote will only help McCain. There's are so many reasons to vote for Obama, but there are so many reasons NOT to vote for McCain. let's just suppose McCain wins. What if he dies 1 year into it? It's very possible that someone, anyone that has had cancer 4 different times and someone who hasn't released his medical record, very well could die within 4 years.

Ask any cancer specialist what the probablity that some with a skin cancer will get cancer again. It's very high. If that doesn't age will. I am not trying to mean here but these are very strong possibilties here.
