Not really. When I turn the channel I hear more conservatism ... keep turning, here's some illiterate slobs babbling about sports ... turn a little more, there's a preacher telling me I'm going to hell and begging for money ... keep turning, still more conservatism ... and THEN, if it's the right time of day, I might hear from someone on the left.

Sports radio annoys me almost as much as talk radio, and I'm a sports fan. Many similarities between the two. Personal attacks, yelling over people, general shit-talking, etc.

This is kind of off topic, but the other night on The Daily Show, they ran a clip of conservative talk radio personality/Fox News babbler Laura Ingraham saying that the American people support torture as an interrogation tactic. How did she know this? It's pretty obvious, really. See, America loves the spy drama series 24, in which Donald Sutherland's son uses torture and threats of violence to extract information from terror suspects. If America loves this show, than Americans must be okay with torture.

I swear to God, she said this on Fox News and she was serious.

I'm pretty sure the point was that radio is primarily conservative; not that the left doesn't have a voice.

Wow, gotta love the amount of footage used. Basically everything was backed up by video.

Glad someone finally had the nerve to do something like this, with all of the 'blame Clinton' stuff going around for several weeks now on every news channel.

I hope the terror tactics aimed at him doesn't stop him from saying things that people don't want to hear.

Sports radio might even be worse. I'm not trying to insult sports fans here, I know some brilliant people who could talk about sports all day long, but the sports fans that call in to radio shows, sheesh! What do you suppose the average IQ is there? I'm thinking it's around 73. These folks make the dittoheads sound like a bunch of Einsteins.

Heehee ... I've never listened to Laura Ingraham's show, but I'm going to have to tune in now! Is she that funny all the time?

this is what I dont get. it's ok for MSNBC to bash bush, but if Fox news says anything about a liberal they are "conservative hit men". can we all admit most media outlets lean, kinda far, to the left namely CNN, MSNBC NY Times, BBC

HA! Conservatives always say media liberal bias, especially when the facts support the left. faux "news" has fixed that little problem. simply eliminate the facts and fill the space with conjecture.

You want rock solid proof there's not a left leaning bias in media? I submit the democratic hearings held recently where REPUBLICAN generals from the iraq war testified to how badly the iraq war is going. C-span 3 covered it, merely a blip on the radar on tmost major news sources.

I think the same right wing hack that came up with "left leaning media" also thought up "fair and balanced".

Sports radio from Chicago is so unbelievably annoying.

On one hand, I find people like Laura Ingraham amusing/entertaining, but on the other hand, it scares me when I think about the fact that millions of people apparently listen to and agree with her and people like her.

Have you been watching Studio 60?

Thank You your the only person that actually got why I posted this. Instead everyone goes on a "their bashing Bush" rampage without actually watching the video and seeing for yourself how they completely contradict themselves.
Condi Rice "There was no plan left for us". Oh yes there fucking was and it's right there to prove it. I'm not here to bash Bush or bash Clinton they both have flaws and make mistakes. i think it's important to point out the outright lying that is going on with this administration is at levels we've never seen before. This isn't about Clinton incase no one has noticed he isn't in office anymore. The government documents and reports prove that this administration has failed at conducting the war on terrorism and continuing this course is much more damaging to our security than the state we were in before 9/11. To just say "Democrats don't understand how to wage the war on terrorism" is a childish form of argument. Ok, maybe they don't hypothetically then what do we have to choose from Those that "don't get it" or those that are "doing it all wrong"
Take real good look at the 9/11 report, the recently released NIE report, Downing Street memos, etc.
Also, those people who think this adminstration is conservative need to watch the HBO documentary on Barry Goldwater and find out what the difference between conservatism and neo-conservatism really is.

Yup - if we could get past the left-wing/right-wing stuff...

This is pure, documented fact. I challenge anyone to debunk the evidence presented in Olbermann's report.

    Yeah, same here.
  • I guess no one is up for it...
  • i do not know how presenting facts can be termed bashing anyone. the facts in the 9/11 commission speak for themselves, bush fucked up. he did nothing with the information presented to him. his cabinet was too busy to meet with clarke, most of them on vacation.

  • This constant whining from cons about incessant bush-bashing and the liberal media bias is so fucking hilarious. Keep it up girls!
  • Ok - here's the thing people don't seem to get...

This Olbermann report = pure journalism! He presents facts and backs them up with evidence.

Say what you want about his perceived political leanings, but there is nothing factually incorrect in that report...
  • Anticipated reply: But why does he even bring it up? It's old news and the fact that he brings it up shows that he has a bias and he loves bashing bush!!!!!!

Reason: Because some people seem to have amnesia re: how this administration dealt with things prior to 9/11.

Thank you. Fuckin a, kat lock this up.

everyone just flips out and doesnt actually read/listen to what he said. Wouldnt any of this anger you if the man you supported is so full of shit? is he the only one? no.

But they are fucking FACTS. You can argue political leanings all you want if it makes you feel better about ignoring this.

Newsflash: No one wants listens to Air America. It's hemorrhaging cash. The only reason it is afloat is because one or two rich liberals keep funding it. Its not that radio is conservative, it is that America is conservative. Unfortunately our conservative leaders are idiots.

It's not that America is conservative, it's that Americans are sheep. America has become much more conservative since these shows came on the air. We're a nation of followers, not thinkers.

And before some of you get your knickers all in a twist, I am NOT saying that EVERY conservative is a brainwashed dittohead. I don't think that most of the conservatives on this board are (although there are a couple). Most of the people debating here have some grasp on the issues, but that can't be said of many Americans. I can't even count the number of times I've tried to have a conversation with someone and they keep coming back at me with whatever Rush or Sean or Bill said yesterday, often repeating it word for word!

ok we can disagree. but why the public outcry from the clinton/fox news thing? I really dont see any station except Fox and maybe some select individuals saying anything negative about liberals. but on the contrary its very excepted and encouraged to bash bush anytime. people like Oberlman make a living doing it.

please keep in mind i'm not taking sides. I just want a fair playing field.

becos it is pointless. saying "bill clinton didnt do a great job" is irrelevant now becos bill clinton is no longer in office. where is fox's "objective" evaluation of bush's national defense tactics? my problem is that i think bush is doing a TERRIBLE job of keeping us safe. but fox will not turn a critical eye on bush's shortcomings in this department. they just dredge up stuff from a decade ago and say "well maybe bush is doing a terrible job, but so did clinton so bush sucking is ok."

we should be focusin on how to make our country safe and trying to decide if current policies are doing that, not excusing our shite policies now by talking about what happend 10 years ago as MAYBE being even more shitty.
