I live a couple miles from a roundabout here in orlando, the stupid cops don't even know how to use it.

yeah, but how many people in america do know how to use them anyway? it's more of a british thing. they work well though, keep a nice flow.

one of the intersections in my town has just been changed from a one lane roundabout that would bank up 1km in every direction to a four lane intersection with lights that works better.

still, i prefer roundabouts. it's a bit of fun racing across in peak traffic
waiting for the great leap forward

12 people may make the one decision but that doesn't make it right.

  • i can't stand those big roundabouts, traffic lights are a lot better. i want to zoom across one of those autobarns in germany with no speed limit.
    The wind is blowing cold
Have we lost our way tonight?
Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

    Feels like were all alone
    Running further from what’s right
And there are no more heroes to follow

    So what are we becoming?
    Where did we go wrong?

    take a good look
    this could be the day

    i just need to say
  • You can't compare Drachten (the town) with big cities really.

The town where I grew up (in the Netherlands as well) also removed a lot of traffic lights several years back and replaced them with mini-roundabouts. The mini ones have only one lane, so it's not that complicated. You wait your turn, then go and exit it after having checked for cyclists (who get priority WHEN they're on the roundabout). Sounds worse than it is really. It speeds things up AND it's safer.

IT all depends on the junction I think. Sometimes Roundabouts work better, sometimes lights do.
Although everything is fucked up in Ireland because our city planners are idiots. They put lights ON the roundabouts
