Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn.
Rep. Tom Tancredo supported freshman Rep. Keith Ellison's controversial swearing-in on the Quran, but when the Colorado Republican wanted to relax in his office with a cigar, the Muslim Democrat's office called in the cops.
"It's very bizarre," Tancredo told The Hill newspaper. "Seemed to me not a good way to say hello."
The lawmakers have neighboring offices on the first floor of the Longworth House Office Building, the paper noted. Last Wednesday, about 6 p.m., Tancredo lit up as he was preparing for a trip to Mississippi. Shortly, thereafter, an apologetic police officer walked into his office to inform him of the report.

Radio series
The series detailed the adventures of Britt Reid, debonair newspaper publisher by day, crime-fighting masked hero at night, along with his sidekick, Kato, a Japanese. With the outbreak of World War II his Japanese heritage was completely dropped, to be eventually replaced with Filipino. A widespread urban legend has been the claim that the show's writers switched from one nationality to the other immediately after the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, but the first disappeared well before direct US involvement in the war, and the latter was not initially given until much later, with nothing more specific than "Oriental" being said in the interim. (When the characters were used in the first of a pair of movie serials, the politically perceptive producers of 1939 had Kato's nationality given as Korean.) Reid is a blood relative of The Lone Ranger. The character of Dan Reid, who appeared on the Lone Ranger program as the Masked Man's nephew, was also featured on the Green Hornet as Britt's father, making the Green Hornet the grand-nephew of the Lone Ranger. The Lone Ranger's name is often incorrectly stated to have been John Reid, an error first made in a volume called The Big Broadcast in the 1970s. In fact, however, writers for WXYZ never provided first names for the character or his ill-fated older brother.
Originally, the show was to be called "The Hornet", but the name was changed to "The Green Hornet" so that it could be copyrighted. The color was chosen because green hornets were reputed to be the angriest.

Does that site ever put a positive face on muslims, this is like the second thing today you've posted that directly targets muslims.

...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.
"Controversial swearing-in on the Quran" -old news, and controversial? Please.
"Called the cops" -has this man not got more important things to be concerned about?
Goes to show one can make a story out of anything these days... and that the US government are more entertaining than the British. Talk about a storm in a teacup..
I believe it is illegal to smoke in federal buildings. Yeah It's a liberty debate, but I'm still not sure taking offense to smoking is rooted in any religous issue.
hahahahahaha
You crack me up.
That's what I thought. However, Ellison could have just gone over and done it himself. But seriously this is a non story. Unless you're a xenophobe.
That's what I was thinking, too. It also sounds like Ellison may be socially retarded, though. What kind of jackass joins an organization and immediately calls the cops on his neighbors. He could have stood up, walked next door, knocked on the door, said hello, BS'd for a couple of minutes, and then asked the guy to not smoke in his office.
he may have done just that, for all we know...
something tells me the Deport 'em Tancredo may not be the friendliest person on the hill...but that's just me...
