i was wondering what you guys thought of people who buy hitlers paintings and watercolors at auction?? do you think it's wrong?? or do you think it's only natural people would want to buy artwork done by somebody so infamous like hitler?? also, what do you think of the rumours hitler was gay??

  • I think theres always going to be people who are fascinated and attracted to those who are considered "sadistic", "insane", and "monsterous". It's like the women who send fan mail to serial killers who preyed on...women. Some become so obsessed that they actually become attracted to the killers and propose marriage to them. As for buying hitler's paintings, could be admiration or investments. As for the gay thing, I have no idea nor do I care.

I think it has more to do with Hitler's presence in history. He was a historical figure. Maybe there are people who buy his paintings because they admire his vision and so on, but I think everyone else who is interested in his paintings are just interested in owning a piece of history.

An example I can think of off-hand is the berlin wall. When that wall went down, people from all over the world were spending money to own a chunk from the debris. They wanted to own a piece of history, regardless of whether it was good or bad history.
  • here's some of his artwork, if anyone gives a shite:

You DON'T think people admire his vision?

By the way, I wouldn't suggest reading anything on that site. I read the first line, and I'm sure if I read more my brain would have exploded out of my eyes, spraying my computer with eye jelly, grey brain matter, and blood because of the level of intensity in which my brain exploded.

you know, you don't actually have to say you're not interested. you could just not reply at all, which is what most people do. you're just seeking attention. just leave this thread alone please and thank you.

His artwork doesnt look too bad, nothing special other than it was painted by a madman. I saw a movie a few years back about Hitler's period trying to make it as an artist after WW1 called " Max" with John Cusack as a Jewish art dealer who sorta befriends Hitler. Fictionalized but interesting nonetheless.

So does that mean that you still don't think hitler is admired?

that must be the jewish aquaintance of hitlers that helped him sell some of his postcards/paintings. this must have been before he thought jewish people were the natural enemy of germans. then his mind snapped.

Well how would you consider someone who admires hitler not to be a nazi? It's hard not to automatically consider someone a nazi who says they admire hitler.

what about Henry Ford? would you consider ford to be a nazi?

    Is Mel Gibson a nazi?

i don't think someone has to be a nazi to admire hitler. they would certainly have questionable views. but i think non-nazis can admire some of the things he did(pre-ww2 of course). btw, i don't admire anything about him. he should have died at birth, instead of his siblings.

  • Some of the paintings are pretty good, the question is who goes out of the way to spend 30 to 50 thousand bucks on a mediocre painting by a genocidal maniac?

Put them in a museum somewhere, it does a lot of damage to the theories about the souls of artists.
