How do you guys keep your posters in perfect condition throughout the show? Do they sell tubes at the merch booth or do you bring your own..Thanks..

I buy the posters before the show just in case they sell out or I don't want to deal with after show congestion. I won't buy if I have gen admission. If I have a seat, I buy and I get extra rubberbands and wrap them around as much of the poster as possible and then I store them under my seat during the show, checking it every few songs to make sure it didn't roll out or get stepped on by me or my neighbor. I have never had any issues doing it this way. Works for me

Silly me, never bought a poster at a show....but..couldn't you buy it and bring it back to your car? Or are you allowed to leave the venue?

I wish you could leave and then come back- but in most cases, you can't

brought along a couple of sheets of kraft paper inside my trusty Brad Klausen-supplied poster tube (since it's the widest) and after purchasing the posters found a quiet corner where i laid down the posters and carefully rolled them inside the tube :)

poster tubes were allowed inside for both Vancouver shows,...

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT BRING IN POSTER TUBES!!
All you'll end up doing is causing a backup in your particular security line and piss off the people behind you!
You could e-mail the venue [asking them if they're allowed] 8 times, bring printouts of each e-mail, and still end up with a security personnel who doesn't care and won't let it in. And by that point, all of the people in your line, yourself included, will have missed their chance to get in line for posters inside.
    Trust me.
Just do the rubberband/bag thing like everyone else has suggested.

This has been a Public Service Announcement.

**You're just as well off bringing in plastic bags (the ones from newspapers are a good idea, or if you can find heavier plastic sleeves at hardware stores like someone once suggested) and many many rubberbands. Keep it sturdy, dry, and secure.

Do they usually allow poster tubes into events?

with all due respect, and of course i can only speak from our personal experience at both Vancouver shows:

security was CLEARLY informed that poster tubes were allowed to be brought in, case in point: we were the 2nd people in line to enter the venue for the 1st Vancouver concert and the 1st people in line to enter the venue for the 2nd Vancouver concert and in both instances i simply (out of common sense) removed a lid of the poster tube and let security take a look inside to see it only contained rolled sheets of kraft paper,...that alone took 3 seconds. security was MUCH more concerned with giving each concertgoer a COMPLETE pat-down and asking MORE than once whether an individual had any recording equipment, a camera, or banned items.

i understand why you'd want to make the above post, but let me assure you (again, based on our personal experience) there were absolutely NO delays caused to other concertgoers in line waiting to get in by way of our bringing in a poster tube to the EV shows. of course, for a PJ show this wouldn't be the case (it seems i'm always the one PJ security point out as an example to local venue security when explaining to them before doors open that no poster tubes are allowed into PJ shows), but for the purposes of the EV tour it's ALL good,...

on a personal note, i would NEVER keep posters rolled with rubberbands :)

I'm guessing this was from the Vedder shows? I'm wondering about the Mansfield/Hartford shows that they'll be doing this summer. If I bring a poster tube...hopefully it will be allowed. Or...I could go with that rubber band/plastic bag idea. Let's hope for no rain! haha

Camden does not allow them. Neither did East Rutherford, NJ. Those are my experiences. Take them for what they're worth, but know that if you're in line in front of me at either Camden show this year, and hold up my line over a poster tube, I will find a way to exact revenge :)

As far as rubberbands go, if you roll the poster tightly, wrap it in a plastic bag, and then put a few rubberbands on it (one in middle and one at either end) just until you get it home, there should be no harm done.
