Should Halloween Celebrations be Banned at Schools?

That really takes the cake! I can't believe they won't even let you smoke in your car. That being said I don't think you should take Halloween out of schools. If you don't want your kid to participate then don't let them participate. I hate that everything is becoming so sterilized that we can't even do fun things anymore. What a shame!

That is the mindset of the far left secular progressive movement. If Obama gets elected it will only get worse. You voting for him supports this way of thinking. The democratic party today is way way different then it was when Clinton was president. He was actually a good one.

This just makes me glad I grew up in the 80's. Halloween was the best school function. We'd have like a 3 day carnival with candy and toys, it was awesome!

This whole PC holiday bullshit is tiresome. Makes me want to home school my kids when I have em'.

Halloween is an innocent holiday... very few kids actually know what it means anyway.

Certainly if possible; but as I said, people might have moved somewhere long before they have children. Its all easier said than done sometimes; jobs can be hard to come by so someone might have to move where the job is to put food on the table.

Again though... normal people just don't expect everything around them to change FOR them just cos circumstances mean they can't change. You fit into your surroundings. Kicking up a storm won't make life easier for you OR your kid.

Fine Helen. I don't believe I said anything about kicking up a storm in my previous posts if you look back at them. I was attempting to show understanding toward people in a difficult situation. Maybe we just look at life differently and will have to agree to disagree. I believe in trying to be inclusive, and you seem to believe that people should just fit in. I accept that that's what you believe but I disagree.

No, that's ok... I just come from a country where others have been trying to force change for centuries... so we don't appreciate that kinda behaviour.. it probably will happen in Ireland too but against resistance and not as quick as it would happen elsewhere. We just have it in us to fight against people telling us what to do. But we've no problems with people who want to accept that this is how we do things and not force their ways on us. The US has quite an opposite history though :(

So yeh, we're just coming from different backgrounds on this. It's something that really irritates me though.

This is silly taking the fun from the majority of kids. I understand that the minority of kids that do not celebrate need a voice. Why not take one teacher or however many they need for a ratio of teachers to kids and place them in a seperate classroom and they can continue to do classwork or perhaps some sort of fun thing they are allowed to do. That way the kids who do not celebrate, do not have to and the kids that do get to still have the fun.

But that's just punishing the MINORITY so, in order to sort this out, let's punish them all it makes NO sense!
