the thermostat had a little nitch that was supposed to be lined up with something and it seemed like the nitch was a generic thing becasue i had no indication as to where or what it should line up to...i did put it in the proper way with coils or apparatus facing the engine; and i put the gasket in, and i thought it would be the end of my problems, but now i seem to have more problems...
help!! if you can or so desire...
i believe the water pump is working, but i am not certain becasue i don't really know where the water pump is located on a 3l engine size..6 cylinder standard edtion...everyone says i should junk her, but she is paid for and not too bad on mileage.
thanks again...

after thinking about trau's comment and having a chance to sleep on commentary, i beileve i owe you an apology. sometimes me forgets about consensus and gets all caught up in trying to make it on me own.
if it bothered you, it is my privelege to drop off this thread; for through the past year, i am learning how to be an interactive being;
really sorry that i may have imposed...take care
it's just that pearl jammin' community has always been pro-active; i can count on that...

hmm...
perhaps the o-ring off kilter...
you leak could be a hose or the water pump, or the thermostat housing may be cracked due to over tightening the bolts...is the thermostat housing plastic...?
to find the water pump, look at the belt or belts depending on your model...follow them to the pulleys...
the pulleys will run the water pump, ac compressor (if you have a/c), the power steering pump, and the alternator....
also, follow the hoses from the thermostat and they should lead to the water pump...
edit: check the clamps and hoses around the thermostat, too

pain in the butt....very prone to leak....depending on how they exit the bottom of vehicle..easy to crush....can increase underhood temperatures...burn plug wires....possible problems with o2 sensors...and the performance increase is negligible. Had several vehicles with headers..will neve again.
sounds like a shitty install,... isn't that why they ceramic coat them to reduce the heat?
also, for my truck, there isn't much i can do that will increase efficiency without spending a lot of money. its a 3 liter V6. nobody wants to work on one of those,... i've got a cold air intake and after market exhaust, but i still need more efficiency. i only get like 300 miles per tank,... and no, im not buying a new car.
have you seen a plus with headers? ever???
