Folks -- here's a link to an Executive Order released by George W. Bush on July 17, 2007 that gives him the right to confiscate your property if you actively oppose the war in Iraq:

http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/07/20070717-3.html

Please note that the URL reads: whitehouse.gov -- this is no joke.

I just searched http://www.nytimes.com for news of this Executive Order. None! If you Google this order you will see that 64,000 fringe sites/blogs have picked up this news but that all of the major media outlets do not consider this news.

Please write the major newspaper in your area and ask them to let the people of your area know about this heinous attack on the First and Fifth amendments of the Constitution.

Yours, in love with my country,
Chris

PS -- Many pardons that I have sent this to my entire address book. I have never seen anything so important ignored so blatantly by the mainstream media. If you decide to forward this to your entire address book I hope they will understand, as I hope you will pardon me. • So I guess Alex Jones is in handcuffs and homeless by now.

I think they're bluffing their balls off. It will be an interesting day in America when I see someone go down for free speech...
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

Thanks Mel for the knowledge about this place.

Not worried about being jailed for free speech, more concerned about if something tragic happening next year like another major terriost attack. With that President Bush then calling for Marshall Law and continuing his term past it's duration.

Now that's scary and don't think he wouldn't try it!

after reading it i do not see the seizure for "actively opposing the war" as the original poster believes... basicly if you commit, or plan, of finance an act of violence involving iraq this could happen. shit, your house can be seized for possesion of drugs? and that seems minor to me compared with an act of violence to create instability in iraq

i read that it is for people involved with violent acts?

    (i) to have committed, or to pose a significant risk of committing, an act or acts of violence that have the purpose or effect of:

    and

    (ii) to have materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, logistical, or technical support for, or goods or services in support of, such an act or acts of violence or any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order;

who will determine these acts of violence and what might criteria be to measure such acts?

    the dogg pound?

what i want to know is, what does "or to pose a significant risk of committing" mean exactly? what criteria is being used to judge what may "pose a significant risk" of violent acts?

Exactly what I am expecting. Very frightening.

I have been "joking" about this for a long time now. I am trying to look at the bright side...let's face it, most of us Pearl Jam fans will be in internment camps, most, if not all the band members will be too...so if you do the math, you know what that means?

    PARTY!

Good music, good people singing protest songs.

Relax. It's never goign to happen. Around 75% want us out and the same dislike Bush's handling of the presidency.

No American is going to jail for disliking the war. It's fine.
