Terrorism, snow, and forest fires. Canada is a scary place. WTF? Didn't mobs of Aussie's go around beating up brown poeple a year or two ago? That sounds more like a worthy travel warning.

  • If you zoom in on the snowflakes in Canada they all look like little miniature Al-Qaeda turbans.

    True story.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

For real? Sooooo many Canadians have died in tourist attacks (on Canadian soil) in the last 30 years….guess it was only a matter of time

I wonder if this is related in any way to Canada adding the US and Israel to the list of countries in which tourists are at risk of being tortured if incarcerated?

As a canadian loving Australian this embarrasses me. I will look into it. I'll blame Kevin Rudd.

Also, the cronulla beach riots you are referring too. There is a worrying racsict undercurrent within some communities. I'd like to go on the record and state that "Australian Pearl Jam fans however are never rascist and canada loving."

  • Not sure if I would blame Kevin Rudd just yet. It is going to take us years to recover from the fear mongering, divisiveness and xenophobia of the previous clown and his circus.

But we do love Canada, as it gave the world Uncle Neil and many other talented people, and it would certainly be on my itinerary if I had any money.
Now I'm livin' out here on the beach,
but those seagulls are still out of reach.

Only joking on the rudd call. Howard is without a doubt partly responsible for ethnic tension, almost as much as the National party. I Labor Government will certainly increase our tolerance, might even have some favourable treatment for aboriginals. We shall see.
  • 9/11 was a fraud, Iraq was also.

  • A media beat-up if ever I saw one. It is not actually a travel warning- it is a page that lists travel advice for almost all of the nations that Australians would travel to as tourists.

Sure, it is worded in a way that undoubtedly overstates the risks- but it is not a travel warning. It's just like that section in the front of the lonely planet guide that lists the dangers.

Ther same thing happens throughout the werstern world- people have been overstating the danger of Australia's wildlife for years.
