So I saw the latest installment of the Die Hard movies last night and I must say I've found my candidate for president! Forget John McCain for President... it's time to consider JOHN McCLANE for President! John McClane has thwarted four, count them... FOUR, terrorist attacks on US soil. In four movies, he single handedly out performed the LAPD, NYPD, CIA, FBI, and the military. If that's not a guy who can keep our country safe in these trying times, I don't know who can. McClane for President in 2008! Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker!!

That's funny it's on now and I'm watching it for the upteenth time. I like the theme of this installment dealing with a computer takeover. That might just be our next terriost attack.

It would depend which label he put after his name - Republican or Democrat - to determine who would vote for him. It wouldn't matter what his stand on the issues was - just which party he was affiliated with. If he puts Republican, there will be all kinds of nasty, made-up stories about his background or policies to discredit him. If he puts Democrat, there will be all kinds of slightly-less-nasty, made-up stories about his background or policies to try and discredit him.

Who need to make up a story about a Republican when his own party has spent 8 years fucking this country to hell?

The nasty, made-up stories about his background will be EQUAL. And actually... I give you guys the nod on nastiness because you got Karl Rove on your roster.
    ...
    Case in point:
In 2004 it was a terrible thing to be a Naval Officer in the Viet Nam War who was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart... who dumped his wife after the war and married an Heiress.
Only 4 years later... it is a qualification for leading this nation?
    ...
Remember that stuff you wrote about in that other thread about 'hypocracy'? Does this count?

Not to mention he walked bare foot on broken glass, ejected from an exploding 747, and survived walking in Harlem holding a racist sign. AND he did it while fighting the Germans.....

Just as long as he doesn't appoint Nicolas Cage as his VP, I'll vote for him.

I'm not defending - or voting for - either side. But from my observation, the attacks from the left have the lead in being slightly more ridiculous and mean-spririted....and generally more ill-conceived.

Well, Bruce Willis has been notoriously a republican, but if you ask him about it, he gets upset. This is from wiki:

In February 2006, Willis appeared in Manhattan to talk about 16 Blocks with reporters. One reporter attempted to ask Willis about his opinion on current events but was interrupted by Willis in mid-sentence:

“ I'm sick of answering this fucking question. I'm a Republican only as far as I want a smaller government, I want less government intrusion. I want them to stop shitting on my money and your money and tax dollars that we give 50 percent of... every year. I want them to be fiscally responsible and I want these goddamn lobbyists out of Washington. Do that and I'll say I'm a Republican... I hate the government, OK? I'm apolitical. Write that down. I'm not a Republican."

I think McClane would be an Independant... LOL!
