anybody think the shit is gonna hit the fan in China this summer?

I wonder if China is starting to wish they never got the olympics. Already hearing about banning live broadcasts and talks of boycotting. Every dissident and protester with a gripe against the gov't is gonna be out in force.

It could all get swept under the rug though.

    If situation keep cropping up like the swiss equestrian rider refusing to bring her horse due to the pollution, and participants fainting,getting ill etc... I can't see how it won't. At some point people are going to realize how bad it is.

    The haze is perpetual and nasty...except after a good hard rain which really drives home the severity of it all.
    Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
    and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
    over specific principles, goals, and policies.

    I hardly think they're gonna start paying attention to what the rest of the world thinks now. It's never bothered them before. They'll just go ahead and do what they want and the rest of us will have to wear it as usual.

    ...some marathon runners have also backed out due to the pollution/climate concerns.
