Interesting article about America's Hat :p I kid I kid.

It is refreshing to see the USA isn't the only 'dumb' country out there though.

Kind of a dumb test though

I went for a 10 question quiz and got 80% the two I failed were:

I didn't know we still pledged oath to the Queen?!

This was discussed in one of the papers I was reading this afternoon. They were asking should we ditch the monarchy. The majority of the "published" responses were in favour of keeping the monarchy saying "I would lose my identity as a Canadian".

Fuck the Queen. I'm a Canadian because I live here, not because I fulfill my "duties" as a Canadian, whatever the hell they are. More appropriate questions would be "Who wrote 'The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald'?"

I'm seriously guy. Who gets their identity from pledging allegiance to the Queen? That's a pretty shallow and useless identity.

The thought that people applying for Canadian Citizenship have to pledge allegiance to the queen has had me searching all over the internet for the last half hour wondering if immigrants have to do the same here.

Seems our Citizenship Testing/Requirements are in the middle of an overhaul.
That can only make me more nervous about the direction this country is heading in.

Exactly...what does the queen do anyways... She's an echo from an old dead world.

Gordon Lightfoot. I have the album Gord's Gold :D Sadly I know most of the lyrics and the story to that song.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gord's_Gold

I saw him live at Massey Hall. "Carefree highway...I want to slip away on you"

also "song for a winter's night"

    Some solid shit man :D

I have to admit I'm not all that familiar with Lightfoot, but that one song.

I had no idea he wrote "If you could read my mind"

yeah I laughed when the dance remix to that song came out. I bet he got some good coin for that.

I hope he lives for a long long time to come.

    Great artist. True to life.

edit: song for a winter's night (keep in mind he is a folk singer):

I hope he rakes in a lot of coin for all the covers of his tunes

    Per Wiki
If you could read my mind
Don McLean, Kalan Porter, Olivia Newton-John, Barbra Streisand, Johnny Cash, Liza Minelli, Glen Campbell, Gene Clark, Viola Wills and techno-dance supergroup Stars on 54.

Wikipedia doesn't list all the other artists who've done many of Lightfoots other songs like "Early Morning Rain" but searching Youtube produces a lot of results

This looks like the Massey Hall gig. Awesome venue. I saw James Brown and Pete Townshend play here as well. The sound is insane. It is/was James Brown's favorite venue to gig at. When the drummer for James picked up his sticks (unmic'd) you could hear the sticks click together. Acoustically perfect venue.

The place only holds about 2700 people.

I got 80% on the 20 question test, but two of the wrong answers I had were the Premier and Leader of the Opposition of BC, so I'm ignoring those seeing as I'm in NS and don't even know the leader of the opposition for this province...

The same people who stopped Quebec from seperating are the same people who probably can't do well on this test. When people talk about their home and it ain't here, what can you expect them to answer correctly. I would say about 1/3 of the people in Toronto struggle with English better yet French and they are supposed know stuff about their new country. Or the country they are calling home now. That is the way I see it. Easy questions for somebody who went to school here and alien to somebody who is new. Of course there are the exceptions.

I took 10 questions and had 70% and I'm not Canadian. I took the American one too once, I also scored around 70 or even 80%.

    It could not be Molson.

Know how hard it is to find a bar that serves Molson in London, ON?

    Nearing impossible.

Ever since Molson moved it's plant down to the states, everyone drinks Labatt.
