Take my hand, my child of love
Come step inside my tears
Swim the magic ocean,

Thanks for the read IS. And here I thought that they were freeing the Iraqi people and the invasion had nothing to do with the control of oil. Boy am I blind to what goes on in the world.

o really? how about for the people who drive cars. or heat their homes in the winter.

do you drive a car? what if we couldnt use mid east oil and you paid $25 dollars (thats $1000 Canadian) a gallon. I'd say its important to you and me as well.

well not so much me, I dont own a car. but a high price of gas effects the entire economy in a negative way. so even though I dont use oil i'm still effected.

You asked me if I thought it was important. I didn't realize there was a wrong answer.

25 = 1000? You have been keeping up on news lately I see.

you answered correctly but decided to leave out the fact that oil is much more important to people other then the ones making money from it.

if we paid $25/gallon or $1,000/litre ... then people would stop using it ... simple as that ... we'd find alternatives like electric ...

we're addicted to oil - we don't need it as much as you think you do

not true. there are too many people that are forced to drive a car for a living.

sure, people would seek alternatives but in the short run (by short run I mean months or years) people NEED to drive. and also heat there homes.

and btw, I was joking about 1000 canadian price

As for heating the house my man. That is why I made sure I have a wood fire place. Sure beats the "need" eh. Silly people living in apartments.

There won't be an alternative until it can be controlled by the powers that be. How long has the sun been around? Before oil and it will be there after oil. Glad we/they have done something with it. Oh yeah, that is virtually free. So I stand by my earlier comment. It means so much to those who control it and very little to me.

    according to your reality ...

the reality is there are alternatives available NOW ... we can easily make changes and eliminate our dependency on mid east oil right this second ... but is that something people/yourself really want?? ...
  • Gas in Iran is 11 cents a liter...this is actually a 25% increase over last year...

We have natural gas taxi's and buses in North America...why not cars? It's simple to mod a car for Natural Gas.

I thought natural gas stores were essentially inexhaustible?

Calling natural gas "natural" is similar to calling oil or coal "natural." All 3 are products of nature and are therefore natural, however all 3 are limited. Natural gas discoveries are slipping behind demand... In 2001 (for the first time ever) more natural gas was used than was discovered. Just as oil peaked in the US in the 70s, natural gas has reached its peak.

Plus it has many challenges as a vehicle fuel, has technological problems (requires unique fueling infrastructure and unique vehicle mods), and isn't a long term solution.

Renewable fuels is the long-term solution.

it doesnt mean much to you, because frankly, you're an idiot. no offense. if we didnt have access to mid east oil, your life would be very difficult. unless money means nothing to you. and if it doesnt, more power to you. but the cost of everything would be higher.

Aside from earning money and then spending that said earnings........Money means about as much to me as oil. A necessity that I have to use. Not my fault that it has been that way my whole life. I'm just glad my name wasn't Rudolf Diesel and I wanted to change the world.

yes I've heard of it. can I get some at my local gas station? if not, where do I get it? will my car (if I had one) run the same?
    polaris wrote:

what about it? you expect 200,000,000 million people to buy an electric car because there are a total of 3 options available? good luck.

and for the record, I love electric cars. if and when I do get a car, it will be one of those.
