Ok, not exactly a surprise that Willie smokes the herb. But he was found with 1 1/2 pounds of marijuana and he ONLY gets a citation? What in the hell?

LAFAYETTE, La. - Willie Nelson and four others were issued misdemeanor citations for possession of narcotic mushrooms and marijuana after a traffic stop Monday morning on a Louisiana highway, state police said.
The citations were issued after a commercial vehicle inspection of the country music star's tour bus, state police said in a news release.
"When the door was opened and the trooper began to speak to the driver, he smelled the strong odor of marijuana," the news release said. A search of the bus produced 1 1/2 pounds of marijuana and 0.2 pounds of narcotic mushrooms, according to state police.
Nelson's publicist, Elaine Shock, declined immediate comment.
Also cited were Tony Sizemore, 59, of St. Cloud, Fla.; Bobbie Nelson, 75, of Briarcliff, Texas; Gates Moore, 54, of Austin, Texas; and David Anderson, 50, of Dallas.
Each was released after being issued a citation.
Nelson, 73, has recorded songs including "On the Road Again" and "City of New Orleans."

LOL! Me too!
Lots-o-green plus some mushrooms.
I bet they were all having a good time until Joe Law had to interviene and give them all citations.
RIGHT ON!!!
In LA, the 1st-time penalty for possession (any amount) is a misdemeanor.
Misdemeanor is also an option for a 2nd offence for possessing any amount.
Seems reasonable to me.
I hope at his age that I can still honk on a dube and pop shrooms and not feel like it is my last day on Earth.
The story would have been funnier if they said he had the pound and change down his pants. "shit! it's the cops! quick willie, hide this!"
he had a voice that was strong and loud and
i swallowed his facade cos i'm so
eager to identify with
someone above the crowd
someone who seemed to feel the same
someone prepared to lead the way
Afterall, marijuana is prohibited by Islam. Thus it is a huge insult to Islam.
Do you have to bring your islam hate into every thread.

The people who call for the death of the pope, who are violent are not true Muslims... I am sure Christians will tell you the same about the people who go to soldiers' funerals and chant disrespectful things, who bomb abortion clinics.
Anyway, do you really think your hate belongs in this thread? Or was it just a cheap shot a Islam?

If I didn't know your humour????? I would have taken this to heart. But I will say this. After being pulled over pre-911 with a brown skin folk in my car in the state of Penn, I will have to say that white boy reminded me of everything you hate in Islam. So now we can compare Muslim and US cops as one!
At least someone gets it.
But goodness gracious evenflow?, you can't possibily stereotype all US Cops, because of one bad apple, can you?
That one bad US Cop does not represent all US Cops. His actions do not reflect the true spirit of all US Cops.
You know as well as I do, that you can only stereotype large groups of people as being good, peaceful, loving blokes. That's the only type of stereotype permitted.
...and i though you knew better than that. So disappointing:D
i know, why don't we focus on the fringe christians who do things like threaten to kill john lennon, black ppl, immigrants, abortion doctors, gays...hell, just look at pat robertson saying ariel sharon's stroke was punishment from god! but no, a lot of them will flip out the minute you say something about a christian

ya!! this is one person i have no problem getting away with it... in fact..he should be able to kill 1 person each year...no charges
dammit!
"DEATH TO THE INFIDELS, man!...well....maybe later."

Looks like people are coming to their senses on that issue at least.

Good find, thank you.
It's interesting to compare LA pot laws to say, oh Texas.
In TX, Willie would have got a state jail felony with up to 2 years incarceration and $10,000 fine. Ouch.
if its not 100% legal, its not reasonable.
