10 Songs To Bring Back in 2008!
Ok, counting down from 10, here are 10 songs that either need to be played for the first time, or need to be thrown in the mix more.
10. Pilate - A song which has only been played 14 times, and none since 2000, this is one of the funkier tracks from Yield which has been neglected.
9. Hitchhiker - Very cool song off of Lost Dogs which is really catchy, a fun song which I think if they broke it out would be received nicely.
8. Otherside - One of Jeff's masterpieces, this one has never been played either. Of all the songs that haven't been played yet by the guys, this one needs heavy consideration.
7. Deep - A classic off of Ten that hasn't been played since 03, I wouldn't mind seeing this one replace alot of songs that get played often like Jeremy, Daughter, etc.
6. All Those Yesterdays - A song off of Yield that was only played once since '98 (Mansfield III), this would be a very cool song to see in one of the encores.
5. Hold On - An outtake from the Ten sessions, one of the best opening riffs of any PJ song. Eddie's vocals are top notch on this track. Some pretty good lyrics too IMO.
4. Rival - One of the many forgotten tracks of Binaural, this is one of the songs from that album that translates really well live. Listen to performances from 00 and 03, and you'll see why it deserves more play.
3. Tremor Christ - A favorite of many on this board, it's only been played 3 times since 00. Anyone smell a comeback for this one? I think so.
2. Who You Are - Even though Jack isn't on the drums, this one needs to come back. Matt would do a fine job with it, and it is one of the best tracks off of No Code.
And number one, of course...
1. No Way - Another track off of Yield that hasn't been played nearly enough, only 3 times in its history. We've all been asking for it. We've all been begging for it. Let's hear it!!!
Honorable mentions go to: Sometimes, Parting Ways, All or None, All Night, Habit, and Red Mosquito.

HABIT is a sick song live.
HABIT! HABIT! HABIT!I pledge to you a government that will not only work well, but wisely, its ability to act tempered by prudence, and its willingness to do good, balanced by the knowledge that government is never more dangerous than when our desire to have it help us blinds us to its great power to harm us.

Great list, even the order you put them in is good. The only song you forgot is WMA. Which I think should be number one.5/28/06, 6/27/08, 10/28/09, 5/18/10, 5/21/10
8/7/08, 6/9/090 -
good list, but i would keep hitchhiker far far away. replace it with ghost0

I agree with alot of your comments. I thought about putting Habit higher up, as well as songs like Cropduster, NAIS, but those were played alot in 03 and 05 so I thought I'd leave em off. Rainy Sunday afternoon, I thought it'd be a good topic to bring up.

See, I'd say those too, but I was going for ones that haven't been played at all or very rarely. All of the ones you've mentioned there have gotten a decent amount of play in the last 2 years compared to the ones i listed.

I will admit we have heard those songs more than the ones you listed, expecially Down and Smile. All I am saying is I would like to hear those 5 songs in a more regular rotation than they are now. Excluding down and smile, the other three i really would love to hear a lot more of.
Cropduster has been played only 4 times since the Riot Act Tour so I do think it is time to bring it back into a more regular rotation and Nothing as it Seems 6 times since the Riot Act Tour.
Undone has only been played three times ever!!!"Change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks"0 -
I would like to add a few that no one mentioned yet. Of the girl and Alone are the ones that I might have a chance at hearing.
Now for four that I will never hear live. Out of my mind, Just A Girl, I'm Still Here and Hummus! A guy can dream can't he?Yellow Ledbetter is my least favorite song. Because as soon as you hear the first note you know it is time to say goodbye.0 -
Camden 2 will be my first PJ show since 2003, so there aren't too many songs that they can play that won't be exciting for me to see live (and anything from "Lost Dogs" or "Pearl Jam" will be new aside from what I have heard on bootlegs), but there are some songs I've either never seen live or that I'd like to hear from the last 2 albums:
Come Back
Sad
I've Got a Feeling
Oceans (they opened with this at my 1st PJ show, but my friends took too long in the bathroom and we weren't at our seats until the very end of the song)
Pilate
No Way
All or None
Smile (I didn't get to see them until the "Yield" tour and this one has eluded me)
Rats
In My Tree (the original way, but I'd be happy with the recent version since it's another that I've never seen live)
Who You Are

Funny thing about Jeremy is I've seen them 7 times and have not ONCE heard the song live.We are the facilitators of our own creative evolution.--Bill Hicks0 -

I saw it once, and I didn't think it translated really well live to be totally honest.

i think the studio version has Ed's voice so deep compared to how he sounds now. it should be held off for rare occasions.0 -

. . . but seeing as our Pearl Jam tribute band is playing Wishlist Foundation's MSG 1 Pre-Party/Fundraiser, this thread is shaping up to be a valuable source of set list ideas. Keep those requests coming and we'll keep taking notes.0
