What IS Grounds for Impeachment?

Seriously, the list goes on and on and on for the atrocities committed by this incompetent administration, and yet the word impeachment hardly ever comes up. An illegitimate war, a mishandled natural disaster, the largest ever deficit, firings over political agendas, and obviously way more. So, why aren't these things impeachable offenses, and a blowjob is?

To be technical, a blow job isn't an impeachable offense, but somehow perjury is (even though he was acquitted).

I agree with your point though, if perjury about a blow job is worthy of being classified as a high crime or misdemeanor, then the whole Iraq war definitely is.

yeah...how about perjury about the reasons for getting us into a war....

not only has it been proved false...but they even tried to get an undercover agent killed (by revealing his identity) who called them out on it.

impeaching this president is like impeaching everyone who voted for him ... mainly the second go around ... no one wants to feel that guilt ... so, let's just suck it up for 2 years ...

Yeah, we should just shut up for two years. We have hardly said anything in the first six, I think that's how the problem started. And guilt? Guilt is better than the continuous genocide in Iraq. Let's tell them to suck it up too, right?

Bush never committed perjury in leading the country to war. Even if you block out all possible scenarios except your chosen one, it still does not constitute perjury in the same way that we saw with President Clinton.

    Um, Clinton was acquitted, remember.

Perhaps an impeachment trial would determine if Bush lied in leading our countries to war.

Is there a min. IQ to be President? There should be and it should be impeachable if not reached.

if you weren't a blind partisan, you'd know that der schlichmeister was impeached because he lied committed perjury in a sexual harrassment trial. not to mention obstruction of justice. funny thing is...he was actually accused of the crime when he lied under oath, unlike scooter libby. he actually did lie, and unfortunately for you, W never did, about anything, no matter how much you want to believe that he did.

how about you actually inform yourself before making idiotic, cliched threads like this?

How did libby get brought up in an thread about impeachment?

And for the record, Libby was convicted by a jury on four counts - two counts of perjury, one count of obstructing justice in a grand jury investigation, and one of the two counts of making false statements to federal investigators. What makes a difference if you lie if you were accused of a crime or if you lied when you testified about a crime? If I was in that Duke lacrosse house and I testified that I saw them rape that girl, then I would be guilty of perjury, no? Or wouldn't it count unless I was actually accused of the rape?

And calling someone a "blind partisan" while using the nickname der schlichmeister is kinda like the pot calling the kettle black.

Bush is a fuck-up and will probably be remembered as the worst president in the history of the country, but I don't think impeachment is the answer. I mean, does anyone really want Dick Cheyney being pres?

is this a serious question? obviously it isn't, it's a partisan one. clinton was accused of sexually harassing paula jones and lied under oath about his sexual history.

scooter libby had no charges against him, he, along with several others, was put under oath for a supposed crime (that never happened) for 8 hours so that some inconsistency could be found.

but again, let's not derail...what is bush's lie? what is his high crime or misdemeanor?

Scooter Libby was a part of the scandal that brought Valerie Plame's name out....she was a CIA operative who's husband was an ambassador and Cheney gave Libby her name and the next thing you know, she's no longer a CIA operative because they blew her cover. And all because her husband took a trip overseas and discovered that Iraq really WASN'T gathering weapons of mass destruction.

Libby was convicted of perjury . you know that.

Bush won't get convicted of perjury because he will never go under oath. He may sit down and "talk" with no video, audio or transcripts of said "conversations".
  • The evidence that the President's speech knowingly included a lie about the Niger Yellow Cake is provable in a court of law under oath.

I may be idiotic, but you're fucking crazy. You are hypocritically calling the kettle black. Can someone simply be dissatisfied with the current state of government without having to be affiliated with a political party? Just because the current situation doesn't effect you, doesn't mean it doesn't effect anyyone. Consider yourself lucky.
